No country should have two grand prix's end of.Let alone a country that shows as little interest to the sport (present company excluded of course).

But you look at how many F1 grand prix they have in the america's (North and South), it is very few compared to Europe. Adding a second in NJ would give people that side of the Atlantic more availability on going to see a GP. There are half a dozen GPs I could go see over a weekend period, with very little effort. That's not the case for the America's.

And no, there might not be the interest in F1 over there now - but this could change that - and whats wrong with that?

There is nothing to speak for a street race over a bespoke racing circuit unless the locale somehow contributes to the history or atmosphere of the affair.

Bernie's burning desire long has been to create an F1 race in NYC. This is him conceding that never will happen. He is relenting and has moved across the river (which also serves as swift kick in the crotch to MMC for their failure to fall under his spell).

I've never heard so much double-speak in my whole life as to a 2nd GP race being held in New Jersey. Europeans believe Americans don't show enough interest in Formula 1, but if American cash supports it then I'm for it. Why should the USA hold a 2nd F1 charity event for a financially strapped Europe, only to turn around and be bitten on the hand.

It bears noting that Scotland has birthed more F1 champions than the USA.

Better the venues are so numerous they have to compete amongst themselves for the right to host an F1 race than F1 suffer for a lack of circuits. The whole "one GP per country" nonsense was an invention by Bernie to justify some of his cavalier decisions where to race and who to exclude. The GP of San Marino has been contested more than 20 times, but how many racing circuits are there in San Marino? The name always was a ruse to obscure the fact it's actually a second GP held in Italy. As soon as the refurbishment of the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari is complete, Bernie will fabricate some further "rationale" why staging the GP of San Marino in Imola, Italy does not flaunt his "1 GP per country" rule and F1 will resume racing there.
