Too many places that are just plain shitholes, every country has them, but in a city like london they shouldnt be surrounding the entire city.

Every town and city has it's less salubrious areas, however it is usually a minority that brings down an area causing the entire area to be tarred with the same brush.

A few years ago I was carrying out a survey of a flat in the Scatterburn area of Aberdeen (real wild territory). The bloke in the flat told me how his family were from that area. I think it was his Grand-dad that told him that this used to be a nice safe area (I could hardly believe my ears) but after a series of slum clearances in Glasgow, families were rehoused up here. What happened was you'd have part of one family in one building then another part of the same family in another building causing 2 buildings to go to the dogs and so on until the whole area became one of Aberdeens several armpits. Great planning(!) I dare say this was repeated in several towns and cities across this diverse land.

Well what does New York have, Harlem, Bronx.

London:

Peckham,
Enfield,
Brimsdown
Tottenham
Kingston
Croydon
Holloway
Hackney
Dagenham
Barking
Stratford
Walthamstow

All of them total shitholes.

Im going to stop before i cross the line now........

Im certain foreign people bar tourists also outnumber British people in London too.

Between my "I live here...no! I live there!" I had this really great experience:

Gosh! It was lots of fun! I had to act as buffer between me and a madman.

Also, 9/11.

I love my little sleepy English village where I now live. Nothing ever happens, except for a farmers market every few weeks...

I was born and bred in Plymouth, United Kingdom, lived there all my life until three years ago when for some inexplicable reason I upped and moved to Kansas... :yikes:

Plymouth is famous for two things, Sir Francis Drake who defeated the Spanish Armada and where the Pilgrim fathers sailed from to start a new life in America, which is why Plymouth, MA is called Plymouth, even my wife didn't put 2 and 2 together about Plymouth Rock in Plymouth MA... of course Plymouth, UK is famous for it's naval base, sadly a former shadow of itself!

I was born in Ljubljana (Slovenija), but moved to Udine (Italy) with parents at age 1. Grew up in Udine and lived most my life there. Spent a few years in Australia to learn English and then returned to Europe. Moved back to Ljubljana upon doing this. However I visit Udine frequenty. (They are not that far from each other). I also have a dual nationality. (Italian and Slovene). My ancestry is moslty Slovene, then Croatian and small amount Italian so I am very much Slavic. Although when people ask me what nationality I am, then the answer is usually Italian. :)

Born and bred in Lancashire, part of the industrial North of England. I grew up in East Lancashire, a place dotted with old mill towns and moorland. The spinning jenny was invented there, along with Eccles cakes, Lancashire Hotpot and Lancashire Crumbly Cheese. We're also very good at brewing ale and drinking lots of it :hehe:

Born in Malaysia, moved to Thailand/Bangkok when 14 (let me clarify since its Bkk, it's due to dad's job transfer), returned to Msia for University at 19, settled down here very comfy-ly *touchwood*. :cloud9:

Australia is its own continental plate.

We still get grouped with them lot.

A scientist or other learned person would never do such things!
