Pasted first time, on my test there was an owner struggling with a dog at the side of the road i slowed the dog ran out into the road and the owner chased after it i calmly stopped.

The instructor looked up from taking notes and nodded approvingly.

You percieved what 'could have taken place' before hand, good job :) .

Congrats mate
First time I failed the test,I was 16; I did the 3 point turn in 1 point :hehe: failed to fully stop at the stop sign, and got off the first gear too aggressively; I was trying to show off :nono:

passed it next time with flying colors

My British driving test was so long ago that I can't remember what happened; I know it wasn't perfect but I passed first time when I was 18; back in 1994, and I believe I took the test in my instructors 1.3L Vauxhall Corsa. My second driving test in the US was easy in comparison; it was literally a drive around the block and park again; and again I passed first time; I got one minor for doing 27mph in a 25mph zone.

I was thinking i wonder how our american cousins would fair in a manual on british roads!, i got 11 minors, twice as many as my first test, which i failed.

I'd probably kill a few people in a huge car pile-up. After all you Brits all drive on the wrong side while we drive on the right side (literally and figuratively).
Nah, I've driven that wrong side of the road in Jersey, but I was on my motorcycle, so the left-right issue was slightly less problematic.

Nice try, over here driving on the left goes back to Roman times, long before many other countries had such systems in place, so to pass it off as simply 'wrong' is pure standard arrogance!

It's the French way, what can I say...

I passed mine on the first try. At the end of the exam, the instructor pointed out all the 'mistakes' I had made which I knew was equal to = horsesh*t. Thus, I put in practice the method we follow to pass driving tests in great land of Malaysia...dig in your wallet and give him some pocket money which is enough to sustain him for a week.

PASS.

I passed first time In South Africa, also first time in England and America. Problem being, I've driven too many times in different countries, and I'm all over the place. Now that I'm back in England, I've had moments where I'm not sure if I'm on the right side of the road. It's the worst feeling in the world (well, I'm sure there's worse).

My mantra to keep me right is: Steering wheel is always closest to the middle of the road. Without it, gawd knows how many accidents I might have caused :yikes:

brushed it close with 11 minor faults, thought this'd be a good thread to discuss our own learning to drive stories!

11 minors?! Are you Mr Magoo?

I had 2 minors and even then the examiner admitted they had an internal conflict about one of them.

Yes, I am that good. :woohoo:

Took me two attempts to pass mine, but the second attempt was glittering. Only a few minors, can't remember how many.
