A couple of years ago we had a good winter, the met office had predicted it but the government covered it up so's not to cause any panic but because of that none of the local councils around the country were prepared and there was no salt. Around here they spread some sort of red grit that was like tiny sharp shards of stone which gave me several punctures on my bike.
The UK really is shi!e at dealing with anything like that and it looks like this time they've gone the other way.
To use my phone in the car I deleted all my German contacts, it's now Hans free.
