Gods I hope we remain frontrunners. We've had more than our fair share of tootling around at the back and languishing in the midfield.

I have a lot of faith in Ross. If anyone can keep this team at the front, it's The Boss.

You work for them now?

You've never seen fans refer to themselves and their team collectively before? It's pretty common. It shows a sense of solidarity & loyalty.

if brawn do well next year i will not dislike them so much and it will show what they have truely got, i still feel this year is a slight misrepresentation of brawn gp

im still hoping renault are in and go out with a bang, more fuel efficient engine than the merc [so i hear] and already a big fuel tank and starting early, fingers crossed they enter!

'BRAWN TO CONFIRM MERC, ROSBERG AND HEIDFELD'
Monday 16th November 2009

Brawn GP are expected to confirm during the course of this week that Mercedes-Benz have bought a 75 percent stake in the Formula One team.

Rumours of Merc's pending buy-in have been making the rounds for a few months, however, neither the German manufacturer nor Brawn GP team boss Ross Brawn have been willing to confirm the reports.

Earlier this month, when asked about the rumours, Brawn said: "Mercedes is a very important part of our team and without the engine we would not have won the Championship.

"It was the best engine in Formula One and we have formed a great partnership together. We are looking at all opportunities for the future but it is too early to announce anything yet."

But, according to the Daily Mail, Brawn GP will 'be taken over by Mercedes this week' with the German carmaker having 'agreed to take a 75 percent stake in Brawn and rename the team after their own image.'

The newspaper alleges, though, that the deal will spell doom for Jenson Button's time at Brawn GP as the Championship winner will be passed over in favour of German drivers.

'Mercedes... appear underwhelmed by the prospect of signing Button and will instead unveil Nico Rosberg as their No 1, with Nick Heidfeld a contender to form an all-German alliance.'

Another party that will lose out in the deal is McLaren, who have had a long-standing relationship with Mercedes as their engine partner.

'Mercedes' buy-out of Brawn will have ramifications for McLaren, in whom they have a 40 per cent shareholding. They are expected to pay £300million to extricate themselves, although they will guarantee to supply engines for several more years.'

Even though it's been doing the rounds as a rumor, reading it now and then when it actually happens, the announcement of Brawn GP being bought by Mercedes and McLaren going it alone down the road is taking my breath away

Very interesting news indeed; so Jenson to McLaren then unless of course Kimi does sign for McLaren; Button could find himself out in the cold or driving for little money for one of the new teams joining F1 next season. Personally I am not very keen on having another manufacturer in the sport after the mass exodus of the past 11 months. Although I would like McLaren to run their own team and engines, or maybe even back to the old red and white powered by Honda... should the Japanese manufacturer want to make a return. But I believe that its likely McLaren will become a full blown manufacturer team but with one difference, the car company is born out of racing heritage!

Which paper did that come from? The bit about Button sounds like it has been overblown slightly.

On the other hand, Mercedes were already known to have a very minor interest in Button driving for the team, they very much want Germans (For some reason). Looks like Jenson now has very little choice but McLaren. F1 has a pretty shameful way of treating its champions.
