Alonso's paws are not on this and they certainly were not on the McLaren scandal. He didn't out his team, he refused to lie for them when called in front of the FIA.

actually he had email traffic with PDLR where he talked about having to use the Ferrari info and to test it asap. He then used these emails to black mail Ron into sacking Lewis, or atleast making him the teams number 1!

what a guy!

and does anyone honestly thing that post race debrief that Alonso didnt question Flav and Pat, even jokingly was that on purpose.... I mean Alonso is a smart guy surely the thought crossed his mind.

What has happened has happened; it's water under the bridge. Alonso and Piquet were given immunity for the same reason, immunity from prosecution for testifying against their team. Alonso is no angel no matter how people make he out to be God's gift to F1, I put him in the Schumacher category, very talented driver that will do whatever it takes to win even if that means breaking the rules. Piquet is a young man that was desperate to stay in F1 and did what he could to remain a Formula 1 driver. Briatore's ban from FIA sanctioned events is a fair punishment in my opinion, he manipulates young drivers for his own agenda without a thought for the driver in question!

I think it's interesting that Briatore was banned forever from the sport and Symonds for 5 years, while Piquet got nothing. Why? Because he is less innocent than them.

He is also less innocent than Senna, Prost, Schumacher and Alonso in the spy-gate scandal.

 Less innocent?

Okay, not less innocent. Less informed?

All the other guys were seasoned drivers. But Piquet wasn't. He's got a lot to learn. And I know we will see Piquet again. And, if I'm still using this lousy forum I will support Piquet to deliberately get back at you guys. :hehe:

Well, I suppose we can all only hope that you are banned from here by the time Piquet is driving an F1 car again. For the record, how long is it expected to be before hell freezes over?

You can rant and rave and get all emotional over it, maybe even shed some tears if you think it will make any difference but you sir have screwed your son over by doing what you did. Ranting in here, trying to convince some fans that he should be allowed to race again will not get Junior back in an F1 car. Appologize to your son, buy him another race team in a lower class and do your best to convince him he would have been a star one day if that mean old Flav had not conned him into trailing the rest of the pack race after race...just so that he would have the opportunity one day to crash and make up for it all. I hope you and your son enjoy a happy and fruitful life, and I have no doubt that you will....but neither of you will ever sit on a starting F1 grid again unless you shell out the cash to buy an entire team. Are you that kind of rich? Tell your boy I feel sorry for him in a way...if he had a better father, he might have had the backbone to stand up and say no when he was asked to do something career ending. He might have had the intelligence not to out himself after he did it. He might have had the heart to drive as fast as your fingers type.

Piquet wont ever get another F1 seat just because of the simple fact he dobbed on his old employer in an act of vengeance. Its like having used work cover for an injury that forever tarnishes your future job hopes.

He got nothing because he was offered immunity in return for information that would help Max get rid of Flavio. And you're right, he is less innocent than Briatore and Symonds. :)

bullpoo!!!!:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

I agree with Racechick. I would've mentioned this earlier too had I've thought of it! What Alonso did was exactly like what Piquet has done. He snitched for 2 reasons: he was sooking about not being given preferential treatment and he only snitched when he was brought in front of the stewards, by that time he didn't care if he was getting a contract or not, he was leaving them anyway. Exactly the same as Piquet.

I now respect Alonso, because he has proven himself. But all you guys here are chucking s*** at Piquet because you hated him to start off with. Don't give me all the Alonso is God crap. All your viewpoints about Piquet are strictly bias, and he should be given just as much a chance as Alonso was.

Alonso would've continued lying if he wasn't brought in front of the stewards, and he most likely would've snitched on them when he was safely out of McLaren. On top of that he is an extremely professional driver and a dual world champion. He should've known better than Piquet, who was in his debut season.

On top of that Alonso drove that McLaren knowing very well that it wasn't legit, yet he still drove, and he even won races in that car, knowing full well that what he was doing wrong. I think it's interesting that Briatore was banned forever from the sport and Symonds for 5 years, while Piquet got nothing. Why? Because he is less innocent than them.

Will you please stop responding to every argument with "your views are all biased", it's getting a bit old now. If you can't defend your position without dismissing ours as biased, and thus worthless, then please just shut up, you've already lost.

Something which I am not sure has come up: He says he crashed his car in Singapore to improve the chances of him getting a contract for 2009, which he was granted. Piquet, however, did not get the job done, so can have nobody to blame but himself. What was he expecting? For Renault to keep him indefinitely, no matter how badly he was performing, lest Piquet squeal like a pig. The man is scum. The apple never falls far from the tree.
