Maybe a god of F1, but not a God.

What did I just say?

You must be as drunk as I am to speak such nonsense :hehe: .
Why do you say that? Massa has out performed the $53M dollar man.

Well mainly because I have been frustrated with the way he failed to support Schumacher and Kimi in the way I would have liked

He's far too fast to be a proper number 2 driver because he takes points away from your number 1 by winning races like he did in Schumacher's 2006 campaign and Kimi's 2007 campaign, the swine. This would be ok if I thought he was capable of winning the world title in his own right. Up till last season I would have said he wasn't but after last season, who knows. I definitely gained some respect for him.

I just find his 'close but no cigar' performances over a championship season annoying and confusing. And especially irksome when he out shines my beloved Kimi :(

I totally agree with you about driver's arrogance (Like your avatar too) but to say Schumacher was without fault is :bs: . I liked to watch MS for the same reason I like LH. They both possess incredible car control, they both seem to get the most from their cars, and they're both very aggressive. It's not astounding he didn't win more and it's not just unlucky, IT's Racing. That's just the way it goes. If I were to use your "Lucky" argument I would say it was "lucky" for MS that Senna crashed, because if he hadn't MS would have had to race him most of his career and he probably would not have won 7 WDC. So please keep the irrational "Unlucky" theory out of it, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Uh, wrong: AS was in his twilight career-wise already, a few more years and he'd retired anyway. So MS would have raced him only into the middle of the uncompetitive early years with Ferrari.

It doesn't really matter, because it didn't happen, witch is the point I'm trying to make. There are certain people who think that Schumacher was a God, and "could have won more if he wasn't so unlucky" or that it's "OK he cheated and lied because he won more", and in general I think it's a load of :bs: . Schumacher Was an Incredible driver but he made mistakes like everyone else, He won 7 WDC because that's all he deserved to win.

I said could have easily won 10 titles. I guess I was highlighting the point that in the years he didn't win the title, he took it right down to the wire.

It was his consistency which made him god-like behind the wheel of an F1 car and seperated him from the rest.

If you can understand, without getting defensive over LH, I loved Schumi's driving because of all the enjoyment he brought me on a Sunday afternoon. Schumacher, even though he was arrogant and defensive, didn't behave like a complete tw@t as we are now seeing from Hamilton...

Ferrari never hid their team orders or lied about race day occurences, they simply built Schumi a beautiful car and showed the rest of the pitlane how it's done and enjoyed a period of success never before achieved in F1.

Hard not to like that pairing of man and machine...

Maybe csrracer gets enjoyment on Sunday afternoons from watching what hamilton can do in a car.

Maybe he feels those team orders, hidden or not, detract from Schumachers performances.

Perhaps he thinks parking at Monacco and saying his car had 'just stopped' was lying.

He may also think that some of Schumachers other less savoury antics made him look like a bit of a twit.

And Im sure csrracer is also aware that the only time Hamilton competed for the world title and didnt win it, he took it right to he wire.

Im sure we're all agreed on your last point. Hard not to like that pairing of man and machine...

Schumacher is a funny case. He was an arrogant bar steward, to be honest, but he was completely open about things. We all knew how his deal with Ferrari worked (having team-mates who assisted him etc.), and he didn't care what we thought. Hamilton on the other hand, is much more sleeked. He claims to be eternally in love with McLaren, for example, but we all know this is not the case.

i don't believe Schumacher was arrogant, in fact you'll really struggle to find anyone who has actually met him who says that he is.

I've never met him, but from what I've read about him, he is a decent man. When it came to Formula One, however, he was not ashamed to look out for himself first and foremost.

I think that's where the difference lies. On-track, he was absolutely ruthless. Off it, he was a real person.
