Why not just split the offending posts off into another thread called 'Mclaren livery' - it's an interesting subject.

I forgot I could do that; getting so carried away in the debate I forgot I have been upgraded... :hehe:

You know on the livery point of this, its going to be confusing having 4 silver cars, while i suspect Mercedes will not have the chrome finish it will still make it hard to tell from a distance. I understand from a marketing point of view that McLaren would want to keep their livery but lets be honest its silver for Mercedes sake. But perhaps they are awaiting (or i am hanging for atleast) a change when they become a complete constructor as Mercedes have.

yeah and you notice the silver to tie in with Vodafone McLaren. s*** like that and all the other marketing media are the reasons why they are keeping the silver livery.

Personally I would like to see a return to the red and white livery of the pre-Mercedes McLaren, when I think of McLaren, that's how it looks!

they had one season together with the Marlboro livery. but they were only red and white for Marlboro. a real McLaren livery is orange.

Bud is that why they wear the orange shirts when they win??

Its not far off topic Mercedes buying out Brawn affects McLaren. its all good as far as i can see!

I'll leave it as it is for now; but it's definitely an interesting debate about liveries... guess it has run it's course now, it's only a slight distraction and it is related! :)

hey there have been other topics take alot further off of course, though a topic about teams liveries not just McLarens as Juliet said would be interesting.

and yeah Racechick its more to do with Vodafones livery, its not quite Mclarens Papaya orange but it kinda fits being a form of orangey colour. :D

I love the Marlboro livery but that's never coming back. When I think of McLaren that's what I imagine, probably because of it's dominance in the 80's and very early 90's.

I have no idea what the traditional Orange looks like but I'll take a wild guess and say something like Bud's avatar and signature. :D If they ever go orange, then Hamilton is going to look like a beacon...orange car, yellow helmet.

I wouldn't object to black but it would be nice to see some more bright colours on the grid, everyone's a bit dull at the moment (except Renault but that livery's just ugly).

Nice car. Pity that team is switching from Ford to GM next year. I guess they are leading this year (In the championship) so please win now, because I hope they lose next year.........

Its nice, but like is said not sure it would work with Vodafones colours.

I like the Silver tho perhaps it will just be more red like the V8 Ford above.

ewwww.. this orange car is gross. it would be the ugliest car in the grid (dunno about new team though).
At the moment they have the most beautiful car imo, but thiss...no thanks
