I find it a bit odd that some of the people who have in the past decried the FiA for being biased towards Ferrari, are now making Ferrari's own argument (That Ferrari ought to get special treatment)...I mean, which is it? Are they god-like beacons of what this sport is about, or are they just another team who ought to be treated as such?

I don't get it. Two years ago, it was the done thing to snicker about the "Ferrari International Assistance". Now though, the FiA is telling Ferrari to play fair and is trying to level the playing field...Ferrari spits the dummy because they like their position of privilege...And the ones who coined the International Assistance gag are on The Scuderia's side all of a sudden?

Just...Utter facepalm.

It's a Hobson's choice.

If Ferrari go. I'll go.

There are not many members who are a bigger Ferrari fan than I yet I will not give up my love for F1 if they are gone. I love the sport more than I do any single team, did I just say that :yikes: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ferrari make F1 interesting. I turn on the T.V. to watch my team beat a red car. Be it McLaren or now Red Bull.

If Ferrari aren't in F1 next year, then there is no point in me turning on my T.V. because I don't get to see my team beat a red car.

It's like V8 Supercars suddenly losing all the Fords. What's the hole point of watching it if you can't see Holden beat a Ford?

There are two types of fans in Formula One: Those who do support Ferrari, and those who don't. Those who don't watch Formula One to see their team beat a red car.

I will forever be opposed to Ferrari!!! Nothing will change my mind! EVER!!! :irked::ranting:

... Except if Sebastien Vettel joins them. :hehe:

Ecclestone worried Ferrari may leave F1

By Jonathan Noble Thursday, May 21st 2009, 08:22 GMT

Bernie EcclestoneFormula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has admitted that he is worried by the prospect of Ferrari quitting the sport because of the row over budget caps.

Ferrari's legal bid to prevent plans for a voluntary budget cap was rejected by the French courts on Wednesday, and it is looking increasingly likely that the Italian team will not submit an entry for the 2010 championship by next week's deadline.

With discussions between teams to try and find an alternative cost-cutting proposal to the FIA's £40 million budget cap are scheduled for Friday in Monaco, Ecclestone has conceded that he is not totally comfortable with the situation.

"Well, I am concerned, I don't want them leaving," said Ecclestone about Ferrari's tough stance. "I don't think anybody does."

Ecclestone has 'doubts' that teams will be able to come up with a solution to the problem before the May 29, and reckons that most outfits will not lodge entries by the time the deadline closes.

"We will have to wait and see," he said about what will happen next week. "Probably, the majority won't put an entry in."

When asked for his thoughts on Ferrari's cheeky suggestion that the quality of teams looking at entering F1 meant that the category should be renamed ‘Formula GP3', Ecclestone said: "It is an opinion, isn't it? We've had more than 70 teams in and out since F1 started. The only people who have been consistent are Ferrari, because they have been there from day one. So, we don't want to lose Ferrari."

Ecclestone also believes that the rejection of Ferrari's legal bid meant little in terms of resolving the current situation.

"It is exactly the same as it was before. It means with the veto, they have they have to serve it at the right time. So if somebody does something today, then they need to serve a veto by Monday to stop it, so nothing has changed from that point of view. Let's see what happens."

Oh my.... if Ferrari leaves...

sorry, i can't imagine if the big red leaves... :yikes:
the sport will just be.... different.

hopefully FIA and Ferrari will find a compromise...maybe Ferrari will swallow their pride and just sign up for 2010, and keep on fighting about the cap for 2011

Vettel going to Ferrari sounds interesting

Alonso has a good chance to end up with the big red (IF they dont quit F1) either in 2010 or 2011 according to some sources

I the end this is all a pitiful waste of time. Mosley is an insignificant person in the history of F1. Ferrari is the sports greatest team. Ecclestone has made many hints of this, dispite his also arrogant attitude. In the end Ferrari will win. Weather they bow to the demands of Ferrari or weather Ferrari leaves. You see if Ferrari leaves so will a handful of other big teams. They will start a new series. F1 will have their budget caps and be run at the level of the likes of GP2 and A1. The new breakaway series will have little rstrictions and thus be the highest level of motorsport in terms of development and performance. (Like the F1 of the past). Thus this will be the new pinnacle of motorsport. So no matter which way this goes, Ferrari wins.

If Ferrari go. I'll go.

No team's departure would make me stop watching F1, but to each their own.
