However, I do believe the Brawn would struggle more if the Q3 rules were different. The Brawn is so much better on a heavier fuel load. If Q3 included light fuel runs, then the other cars could get on front of the Brawns and control the race. We need to tell Bernie that, he'd torture the FIA till they changed the rules if knew it would mean Brawn would be less dominant.

Should be the case next year anyway b/c of refueling ban.

yeah about that, are they shortening the races, or like putting in huge fuel tanks or making the engine more efficient?

There's been talk about shortening the races to 200-240 km - not sure what came of that proposal. Fuel tanks will have to increase in size at any rate, by how much will depend on race distance.

Personally I think they need to shorten the races. In between stops, so little actually happens. Cut out that bit, and bring the stops closer together. The races don't need to be so long.

But yeah, the plan is, massive fuel tanks. Which I think is going to be a pain for teams. Teams have made their fuel tanks smaller this year to fit in KERS, and next year KERS is mandatory. So thats the biggest challenge next year. Personally I think they should ban KERS. It's making life more complicated right now and not improving overtaking.

But the rules have yet to be finalised for next year. Everyone's still battling over the budget cap, so the re-fuelling thing has been pushed aside for now.

:yikes: A yank!!! Why did you think that?
How do pommy's act? Should I start practising?

Haha. Poms whinge about EVERYTHING under the sun. You whinge at only the Hamilton-bashers. :hehe:

Yanks are more positive and optimistic than the poms. They are also easier to reason with. Poms will stick to their point and are very argumentative when people disagree with them, despite knowing f*ck all sometimes.:hehe: You do not fall into this category. We can reason with you, except when it comes to Hamilton bashers.

So, if you wan't to act a pom, you need to start being b*tchy.

You could also try to be an Aussie. We voice our opinion on anything and don't give a sh*t what other people think about it. Similar to the poms, except it's not. We aren't always so... depressed. :hehe: (Fair enough your weather is dismal.)

Hmmm... Kind of like this post. :P

If you want to try being an Aussie, look up a guy called Corey Worthington.

Back to being on topic, I want the races to be as long as the Bathurst 1000! (Not gonna happen I know)

I still prefer it when there is refuelling, it's the only way for us to beat Ferrari!

KERS should be banned... And now I have a mind blank. :(

:wavey: hi all, im new to these forums but i have been watching f1 for since i was very young. I dont think its getting boring because brawn are doing so well and dominating. I still find it exciting and vettel is good to watch and hamilton is fun, just to see how many cars he can overtake when he is way at the back, also its fun to see what he says after the race eg the car is gay ! lol I think they should not have intorduced Kers, its stupid, i know they use a sytem like that in A1GP and there is more overtaking in that but thats because of the cars and drivers. I think they should scrap it in f1 as the cars using this are to heavy and cannot break as well as the cars running it.

The cars using KERS weigh the same as the non-KERS cars this is because the non cars carry extra weight (ballast) to equal it out.

The problem is the Non-Kers cars can put the ballast is more usfull places such as at the front wheels to keep the front of the car down.

I'm not sure how ballast would affect breaking however.

Ah yeah sry, they wouldn't have cars not being equal in weight. In Monaco the kers cars had problems, like the rear spining out under breaking. I just hope they dont have it next season All cars should either have it or scrap it.

Yeh i would perfer to see all cars have it, since its been developed now.

and its somthing that can be used in real world applications.

I assume the Merc/Mclaren system will go on Merc and Mclaren cars.

But i've read that the Williams system will be used on Busses in the UK

Come on guys, it is hardly cut and dried at this point. Hamilton was up by 20 ish points in 2007 with only a few races to go and he managed to screw the pooch with amazing authority. It is certainly not beyond Jenson's ability to do the same with far more than half the season remaining. It is not hard to believe that Ferrari could make a real challenge, or Vettel or half a dozen others for that matter. One wrong wheel in Monaco and Jenson would have scored 0 points. One Mercedes failure and another race can go down the drain. There is a LOT of racing left to go. One or two people cry out that the season is over and a ton of you believe it. That is simply not the case....

I think Ross Brawn and Jenson Button are a pretty mistake-free combination. Lewis and McLaren always looked like they might slip up occasionally but I'd be amazed if Brawn throw it away with silly mistakes. A crazy race or two with crashes and rain and the like might swing it if the Brawns get caught by Ferrari and Red Bull on pace...

to be honest Brawn havent been under pressure at all by the competition aside from China. until someone can bring something to the table to challenge them then they will cake walk the remainder of the season and as you say Gilles mistake free.

Yeh i think its just a case of there not being anyone really close to threaten Button.

I mean he slipped up a tiny bit in China when under pressure from Webber

but the thing is as the gap increases the less the pressure.

I have to ask, if F1 did introduce a boost button, allowing cars to exceed the rev limit for a certain period of time. Just like in A1GP, would you complain that F1 has had to clearly copied from another series, or would you rejoice at the idea of more overtaking.
