From F1 Live:

In the midst of his despair, Felipe Massa turned his thoughts to the wellbeing of Toyota team members.

According to Germany's Sport Bild, Massa feared that his Brazilian supporters at Interlagos might turn their frustration on members of the Japanese team.

Timo Glock's dramatically slow final lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix, which gave fifth place to Lewis Hamilton, cost Massa the world championship.

Sport Bild reports that Massa sent his younger brother to the Toyota garage to advise team members to change out of their uniforms before leaving the circuit, located just outside sprawling Sao Paulo.

Apparently, Toyota figures did heed the warning, returning to their hotels or to the airport wearing Brazilian national team jerseys, or spare uniforms of the Renault or Ferrari teams.

German driver Glock, meanwhile, was forced to deny wild conspiracy theories that - albeit with an unexplained motive - he deliberately slowed to allow Hamilton to be champion.

"Maybe the Brazilian fans are not on my side any more but I tried my best and drove my race," he told BBC radio.

Hamilton was not afraid to enter the city to celebrate his triumph on Sunday evening. He was spotted dining at a local steakhouse before partying with his entourage at an invitation-only nightclub party just after midnight.

And, just for the record, even the Briton's arch-enemy Fernando Alonso returned to the McLaren garage after the race on Sunday to personally congratulate Hamilton.

So even MASSA was in on it then!!!

:D

I have to say, though, credit to Massa for even thinking about Glock after what he happened. He handled everything very well.

Too bad the poor misguided Mclaren/Toyota Conspiracy mongers, cant take the loss as well as Massa and the rest of the Ferrari team.

Dont think Glock deliberately slowed down. What for?? in fact I was more surprised he didnt pit for wets. It was obviously a gamble that I thought was going to work, but apparently didnt. Couldnt believe it that Lewis was able to pass him though... the footage only showed Lewis / Vettel not taking into acct what was happening with Glock. That must have been the luckiest pass in F1 history.

Guess it goes to show how fragile being the champion is.

Mclaren should wear Toyota overalls for Melbourne 09 :hehe:

This is the image that counts:

Image

It shows Hamilton cruising through to 5th place... and of course it also shows Glock with his tyres on full lock controlling his out of control Toyota in the pouring torrential rain... because of course, the track is drenched. :hehe::hehe::hehe:

All sarcasm aside, let's be clear people, I think its great that Lewis won. As someone from his neck of the woods, we have watched his career with great interest. As a lifelong McLaren fan, I'm also happy for the team. But as a F1 fan for over 20 years, this stinks. It completely stinks.

Bernie did whatever he had to to make this year a spectacle. Good stuff. No one is complaining about what goes on during the season to make things closer - we all like a good soap opera. Its a great spring board for the Beeb. But what racing supporters wont stand is anything fishy on the important races.

Look at the photo, do your homework:

(1) It is not wet
(2) It is not raining
(3) Glock is not struggling

How, why and when is something else for another day. All we can be sure of is this: something dodgy did happen. Just listen to the cracking follow ups:

"It was very wet and the car was basically undriveable in those conditions. I was sliding everywhere, with absolutely no grip at all" (Timo Glock)

When asked "What was it like in wet conditions with dry tyres?" Timo says "It was not so bad until the final lap when the rain really began to come down very heavily"

This certainly isnt supported in the TV coverage nor the still pictures which are everywhere on the internet. At the time of the incident, it was as dry as it had been for 3 laps. The circuit was drying out, look for yourselves.

Glock is all over the shop with his comments. It was raining, it was easy to drive, the last lap was hard, it was "impossible".... look at his lap times.

On lap 63 it starts to rain, on Lap 62, reports on 5 Live state that the rain is starting to fall. Renault reports "drops of rain, drops of rain"
Lap 66:1:17.992
Lap 67:1:18.897
Lap 68: 1:18.816

rain starts to ease
Lap 69:1:18.688

Almost dry on parts of the track
Lap 70: 1:28.041
Lap 71:1:44.731

Parc Ferme it starts to chuck it down

So, it wasnt hard for Glock to drive and keep control when it was raining hard during laps 63-68 so what about lap 70 & 71 when the rain was non-existent and the track was dry enough to not be a problem for Glock?

It simply doesn't add up.

Well this was the interview with Ron in the pit lane shortly after the race:

I'd like to know what your idea of "easing off" is. How, tell me how, could the rain have so obviously eased off and yet ten groups of experienced F1 people from all teams sat out on the pitlane would say nothing?

Your theory makes as much sense as mine

The Toyota/Ferrari conspiracy theory (The True Story)
by csrracer on 03 Nov 08, 12:32

Having just watched the race and qualifying over again I have come to the conclusion that there obviously is a conspiracy with Toyota, but their actual alliance was with Ferrari. Ferrari knowing that LH needed to finish higher than sixth where helping Toyota and Renault with there set up to try and get as many cars between Massa and Hamilton. You can clearly see in some of the Garage shots that the Toyota and Renault were actually running Ferrari engines, that's why they did so well in qualifying. As the race was coming to an end and Hamilton was still going to win the WDC Ferrari had to go to plan B which involved the Brazilian weather service and all the Brazilian spectators....
Plan B in the closing laps of the race: Part 1, If LH was still in contention to be the champion, the Brazilian weather service would put out a false radar signal that showed an oncoming rain storm. Of course all the teams would be scrambling to change their tactics for the end of the race. Part 2, consists of the Brazilian fans who would then on cue, put on their rain ponchos and start spitting on the race track. Then when all the teams would come in for Wet tires the Toyota team would stay on dries boosting their cars ahead of Hamilton's. Toyota knowing that the fans would eventually stop spitting and the Dry tires would work just fine would spoil Hamilton's championship hopes.
Of course plan B failed because Ferrari (the masterminds behind this plan) did not take into consideration the tracks irresistible Fish Tacos. With the majority of Fans eating the fish Tacos their saliva was unusually oily, something Ferrari didn't take into consideration when testing the dry tires on saliva from a high Pasta diet.
This minor oversight caused Glock to totally lose all traction at the end of the race......

We Are on to you Ferrari / Toyota we now know the TRUTH....
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I've seen the fish tacos comment already.... nice... bordering on racist... lol

Now I know you are clutching at straws as you have posted that video... who's payroll are you on, FIA.. McLaren?? lol

Just look at the photo, get your Sky+ box out:

Maybe the only one up this late... :)

In the immediate aftermath there is a MAJOR difference between Martin Whitmarsh’s account of what happened and Lewis Hamilton's account as reported after the race on the BBC website.

Whitmarsh says it was "planned and on schedule" and they were telling Lewis he was going to take Glock.

On the other hand, Hamilton says he had "no idea what was happening" and it was a complete surprise.

If Whitmarsh knew... how come Hamilton didn't?

Kubica Vettel and Hamilton went by Glock like he was standing still, Glock was off the racing line and struggling to keep it on the track.

Yeah that is a bit strange, I admit, but it's not a crime to get your facts wrong is it (well you'd better hope not TruthTeller or you'll be going inside for a few years...)
