Small correction: the drop of 10 grid places was given for causing a collision and forcing a driver off the track.
The team got another penalty a 50000 fine because of staying too long on the track after the accident.
Or at least that's what the fia report says. I find it a bit harsh, it still looked like Kubica forced the situation, and could have avoided it. But so it goes. Better luck next time, though Vettel obviously cannot fight for the win in Sepang.
It was a combination of both not just one person to blame. Kubica closed the door too early, but if you look at the replay Vettel tried to force Kubica wide as well. Its 50/50, both very rookies mistakes and I dont think Vettel deserves to be fined cuz its just a racing incident. The grid spot penalty he deserved for driving a damaged car around was fair though...

Go back and play it again on your DVR. Kubica was almost 1/2 on Vettel into the corner, the simple fact is this, Kubica, had a choice, go out further on the corner and pick up marbles on his tires or keep his line. He was counting on Vettel to concide to the corner because he did beat him to it, on the contrary to what everyone is saying about Vettel having no room, he barely rode the curb so there's more room to either move over or slow down knowing you don't have the proper tires to brake. Its a racing incident with 60/40. BTW, stick around a bit longer and get to know people here first before calling people names, think wisely
