Just thought I'd post a heads-up. As you all know, some of the races at the best circuits are very expensive (Monaco, Britain, Belgium, Italy) this year. However, it's still possible to snap up a great deal. The Turkish GP, which is a pretty good race at a nice circuit, is one of those. For a three-day general admission pass, an adult pays only £54.54! Want to upgrade to a grandstand seat? Well, the cheapest grandstand is only £89.35! Hell, one of the grandstands on the main straight would only set you back £200 for three days. The better of those on the main straight would, however, cost £400+ for three days.

General admission tickets for the Nurburgring are similarly cheap, and those at the Hungaroring are fairly good value, too. Shanghai looks quite cheap, too, although you'd have to be able to do that one at very short notice. Bahrain, which gives you more time to prepare, could see you sitting in the grandstand just after turn two for between £95 and £130. The two grandstands near the final corner are also around £100 for the entire weekend.

So, for anybody who would like to see a race and isn't too picky about the destination, this is pretty good news. I would now seriously consider going to the German GP after seeing the prices, or maybe Turkey. Have to say that the others would be a bit too much of a stretch for me, but it would mean I get to see some good racing :)

Just thought this would be worth bringing up for y'all :)

Edit: If you could manage it, you can get tickets to the Malaysian GP for as little as £25 :hehe:

If Turkey lasts...

It is interesting you say that about Malaysia, according to James Allen there was no advertising for this years Gp in Malaysia itself. Have they fell out of love with the sport, or were they ever really for it in the first place?

Yes, tickets are quite cheap on the continent, once I graduate i'll be going to a few I'd hope.

Yes Malaysian GP is really cheap compared to the traditional European ones. Before moving to this side of the World a few years ago, I used to go to Spa, and although great GP, it always made a hole in my pocket. There decent grand stands start from over 300 euros.

When going to 1st time to Sepang on site 2007 I was happily surprised about the ticket prices, could get tickets to main grandstand or the 1st turn for 50% discount compared to Spa.

Ant this year I wasn’t first planning to go because of work and stuff, but noticed some adds last minute, that they were advertising that tickets still available, and you get cheapest tickets on the main straight for 500 ringgits, that is about 105 euros, so less than 100 pounds for Brits. On top of that with Air Asia and other budget airlines it now doesn’t cost much to get there either. With those prices I couldn’t resist, even though I have to work on Saturday so I can only go there on Sunday morning.

Even that 25 pounds for general admission tickets your refer to is an inflated price by the F1 site, or some other travel agent middle man. If you book it directly via Sepang circuit it would be only 100 ringgits, which equals to about 20 pounds.

Surprisingly even in Singapore GP the cheapest Grand Stand tickets are only 250S$ that is about 125 Euros, it’s relatively more expensive for British compared to a year ago, as your currency’s been going down, but still not too bad.

Let’s see what happens with less corporate hospitality tickets going around. If the GP organizers need to depend on people paying with their own money, the ticket prices might go down a bit.
