The Strewards fault here really if they made decisions quicker or weren't so harsh on Mclaren this wouldnt of happned and Trulli would of got 4th.

Eitheway great drive in one of the worst cars in the field.

This should silence any doubts as to how good LH is.

Bollocks.
How many places did he gain through accidents.

Accidents by people making errors, in new cars they were unsure of, Lewis didnt. How many people did he overtake?
What happeneed to the "He needs to prove he can put a poor car in places it shouldnt be " theory? Its all gone a bit quiet on that front.

Nah poo.
#He was gifted the 3rd place.

he shouldn't drop it. He's champion.

So's Kimmi and way more experienced.

Yeah his car may have been more unstable.
Either way Hammy got given the 3rd. Possibly even the win.

Don't talk about that. The diffusers need to be declared legal once and for all. I think banning them would bring about levels of outrage greater even than stripping Lewis of his victory at Spa last year :/

Well it seems as the diffusers ARE legal , at least for the time being and while I like Lewis plenty I'm disappointed that 3rd place was hijacked from Trulli. I wouldn't bet against Trulli being re-instated into third if his version of the story ( that Hammy pulled over and slowed) is corroborated, which should be easy enough to do.

The only thing I'm worried about is that, despite having a pretty solid case to prove that Trulli shouldn't have been penalised in the first place, it is essentially a drive-through penalty (or stop-and-go, I forget which) and as such cannot be appealed.

However, after being told as much by the stewards, Toyota went to Albert Park's Clerk of Course and seem to be getting further along with their appeal by taking this route. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

I hope Trulli gets reinstated, he drove a fine race and i'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for this.

Yes, I read that too, Tim Schenken is in charge. However, what IS this alternative route? How does/could it work? Why has nobody used this before? Questions over questions...

Hmm. Seems they didn't actually go to the stewards at all.

The problem for Toyota is the inadmissibility of appeals for post-race 25-second penalties, because if the incident had occurred earlier in the race, the penalty would have taken the form of a drive-through, which is not subject to appeal.

Toyota snuck in its appeal through a loophole, by lodging it not with the stewards of the meeting, but with the local clerk of the course.

The team has two days to formalise its appeal in writing.

If it allows the procedure, the Court of Appeal would be faced with a difficult decision. Hamilton has been quoted by Speed TV as admitting that - after passing Trulli following the Toyota's off - he was then "told (by McLaren) to let him back past."

Hamilton presumably then pulled over and slowed, which would seem to corroborate Trulli's explanation that he only passed the Briton because "there was nothing else I could do."

Definitely a good call by Toyota, and even better for them to be picking up on a route that nobody else seems to have realised before.

If they strip Jenson of his Oz win, I walk.
