Weird, usually when you lose places due to safety cars and other factors out of your control it's called getting unlucky. But here, when Lewis gains places it's just sheer driving brilliance and brilliant team stragtegy. Oh well.

Jeez Louise mate, the man started last in what is widely considered to be about the third worst car out there and finished (4th) 3rd behind the dominant Brawn GP Cars. I'm no fan of Lewis, but it was a mighty drive from a huge talent. Yes, there was luck, but you can't achieve anything in sport without it anyway.

I hate the time penalty I feel bad for JT now because he has ended up 12th instead of 4th they should of got rid of it when Hamilton got demoted from 1st to 3rd at Spa if you gained 1 place illegally you lose 1 place not loose multiple places.

It's in the rules that they have to give a 25 second time penalty which is stupid and most of the time out of context

he started 18th, and with a struggling car (actually car was good today), he overtook everyone out there and came to 9th position... he was lucky as massa , raikkonen, vettel, and kubica were out of the race... but you cant deny the fact that he overtook most of them on the track with his driving skills...

i am really happy on seeing lewis doing well with a underdeveloped car.. I hope mclaren will come up with a good show in the next race....

His point doesn't deserve to be addressed. I'm happy to debate anything, but only with sensible people. To claim Hamilton's drive was conservative is completely spurious and designed to cause trouble on the forum.

Yeah, I believe Hammy did a great job. Toyota though? I think something’s there that shouldn't! McLaren have the same diffuser and outpaced them lets hope next race we all have the same system and there can be no more debates!!! because this feels like an endless argument that does my head in!!

It seems to me that LH's result was a combination of skill and strategy (things under his control) and luck (things outside his control). IMHO it took both factors to get him into third. Less than excellent luck = much poorer result, less than an excellent drive = much poorer result.

McLaren's diffuser isn't quite the same. They've not gone with the contentious section that Brawn, Williams and Toyota have on theirs. But, yes, point taken, it's been slightly updated, shall we say. Toyota seem to produce funny cars. For a large chunk of their history, their car has been quite fast, but only in patches. This morning they were rather slow until the closing stages of the race.

Hamilton was more than lucky his car is underperforming and he drove a solid race and stayed out of trouble - i think we saw a more mature hamilton in this race than previously
