excellent news, I hope Trulli only gets moved down to 4th though as both of them drove brilliant races. However, the McLaren was definitely the weaker car so Lewis deserves the extra point today for dragging it to the front

Unbelieavable. He can do crap all weekend, drive a conservative race and ends up on the podium in the end. "Lucky" doesn't quite cut it when it comes to Hamilton.
Another comedian? The forum is crawling with parasites this morning.
Have you considered addressing the point rather than simply name-calling?

Yeah Trulli should only be moved down 1 place they both drove well!
No way was he ever conservative. He put himself in places that McLaren had no right be and took advantage of every opportunity that came his way. Superb drive.
Ive addressed the point!
His point doesn't deserve to be addressed. I'm happy to debate anything, but only with sensible people. To claim Hamilton's drive was conservative is completely spurious and designed to cause trouble on the forum.
Now, even I'll admit it was one hell of a drive. He pushed the whole race, and even though that car looks a handful to drive. The main thing was that he didn't slip up, he kept a good consistent pace. Unlike many drivers in front, like Kimi spinning and Kubica vs Vettel. The reason Hamilton got 3rd today was because he kept it on track and didn't make any rediclous mistakes or lunges.
The main instance for me was his start. He decided coming into turn 1, to slow right down and avoid the pile up. He was last, but then got a clean run out of turn 1, and by turn 3 had passed on track about 3 cars.
So indeed, it was a good drive.
Weird, usually when you lose places due to safety cars and other factors out of your control it's called getting unlucky. But here, when Lewis gains places it's just sheer driving brilliance and brilliant team stragtegy. Oh well.

Yup, it's been confirmed by BBC!
No link yet as it's on the 'more soon' headline...
Yeah Hah!!! thats my boy
Toyota are apealing though so i wouldnt celebrate just yet.
I've not see what happens, but if what is said to have happened did actually happen, then Hamilton should get promoted to the third and Trulli bumped down to fourth, at the very least.
Hamilton promoted to third in Australia
Sun 29 Mar 2009
MELBOURNE, March 29 (Reuters) - Britain's Lewis Hamilton was promoted from fourth to third place at Sunday's season-opening Australian Grand Prix after Italian Jarno Trulli was penalised for overtaking while the safety car was on the track.
Hamilton crossed the line in fourth place in his McLaren, less than three seconds behind the Brawn GP pair of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello and Trulli.
The Formula One race stewards later ruled that Trulli, driving a Toyota, had overtaken Lewis while the safety car was on the course and handed him a 25-second penalty, which saw him relegated from third and out of the points.
