As the KERS system was introduced as a sop to the energy conservation brigade, I assume cars leave the garage for assembly on the grid with KERS at zero. If so, what are bets on collisions on the formation lap, when the KERS users accelerate and then stamp on the brakes to charge the KERS system, only to be hit from behind by a non Kers car?
We shall see.

I doubt it would be different. The drivers already use heavy braking to warm up tyres and brakes on the formation lap. Plus, they are permitted to charge KERS in the garages before the race.

Since they are only to use it for 6 seconds a lap anyway, it doesn't really matter.

Doubt it. I don't think that it was KERS making the cars slow as much as the diffuser debarcal. I think that the teams with KERS were over taking easier, hence the 2 ferraris getting brilliant starts and Hamilton working through the ranks.

Hamilton made a good shout starting light, that added to KERS really made his race (getting past quite a lot of cars in the first stint that is). It'll be arsey if he ends up in 3rd but i'll definitely admit he earned points today.

He drove spectacularly and deserved to finish where he did. But if you can't accept that he made up a lot of ground through incidents then you're just being silly.
