Button will be a future contestant for the title in future fights. But this season they will have a personal fight of getting companies to sponsor them. otherwise Brawn will have to ump on the Ferrari boat again...... :irked:

You did last year. It beat you in the one that matters to most people.

Button will be a title contender in the future if he has a car that performs as well as the Brawn is. I'm not sure if he can be provided with consistency from season to season. In other words i feel this is Jenson's make or break season in terms of the Driver's Championship.

But on the topic of Rubens vs Jenson, I personally would like to see Rubens have a good season. I can only remember Rubens at Ferrari and how he was a good team mate to Schumacher and I think it would be good to see him as the main title contender after having to support Schumacher and iin more recent seasons having a car that is crap and does not deliver the front running capabilities that both Rubens and Jenson should be getting.

I think the Brawn team will be helping Jenson out a little bit more, as he obviously is a longer term assett to the team over Rubens. Even so, i think Rubens will do better this yr than Jenson.

I would love to see Barrichello do well. I think he's been pretty unlucky throughout his career. Jordan was not a bad team to get started with, but Stewart promised him the world and delivered nothing. Sadly, then, he had to throw in his lot with Ferrari, wasting his ability playing second-fiddler to Schumacher. His ability definitely merits at least one title.

Both the Brawns looked decent this morning. I think Button's smooth driving style is really going to pay dividends on the new generation of Formula One cars, for the tyre ware is quite bad and they are pretty unstable.

Unlucky? C'mon, spending quite a few years as a Ferrari driver and earning gazillions in doing so :violinist:
He HAD to?? It was HIS choice to drive for Ferrari and he knew darn well what he was signing up for, no two ways about it.
If you're the inferior driver in a team, you're bound to play second fiddle. Harsh F1 reality :hehe:

I think if you asked Barrichello whether he would rather have had a few more millions in the bank or a few less millions in the bank with a world championship title to his name, he would answer that he'd prefer the latter. Barrichello moved to Ferrari because getting on the podium and scoring the occasional victory was better than driving for no-hoppers such as Stewart.

You could say the same for Button, that he has been unlucky with his team choices etc. But this year it seems they both have a car to be competitive in.
The fact that Barichello spent all those years at Ferrari and failed to come away with a championship suggests that either he simply isn't good enough or he did not have the guts to move teams and give his all for a championship title. If Jens had the chance to drive a Ferrari when they were as competitive as they were when shue was around he may have given a better fight than Barichello did??

Move where, exactly? McLaren were satisfied with the Raikkonen/Coulthard pairing and before that the Hakkinen/Coulthard pairing. Similarly, for a period at least, Williams were satisfied with the Schumacher/Montoya pairing. His options at the end of 1999 were really either to go to Ferrari where he could win races or else end up stuck with Jaguar and have never won a single race, which would be totally undeserved.

He knew the score when he signed for Ferrari. So why is he going to release a tell all book bout it?

What relevance does that have to what I wrote?

Maybe there's more to it than we know? I couldn't say - I wasn't there and I don't know Rubens personally.
