I don't like the 2 tier system either. It means that either being a budget team or a non-budget team will benefit you. There's point in trying to level the performance, it just won't happen. One tier will be making faster cars. It's better that the budget cap is set around 50-60 million with regulations staying the same. We've had enough regulation changes for now. F1's costs need lowering anyway, they're ridiculous. I'd rather see teams like Williams stay rather than being pushed out by growing costs.

I'd say the 30 million cap was like bait. An introductory budget which will rise soon enough.

So I assume what he mans is...Pre-Qualifying is back :S

They used to have pre-qualifying for if there were more than 30 cars so the Eurobruns, Colonis and Life could get sent home early. 30 cars would then take part in normal qualifying and only 26 would qualify for the race.

Pre Qualifying looks hillarious. Aguri Suzuki kamakeze at Hockenheim.

You can't beat the 1990 Life car's attempt at a "flying lap" at Imola that year... around 7 minutes 40 seconds ish!! :hehe:

Mind you, from today's point of view. Pre Qualifying would be good for the show on Friday. However too much rests on sponsorship etc etc now. They'll never bring it back.

That can't be right, the rules stipulate a 24 Car grid max, don't they?

So I assume what he mans is...Pre-Qualifying is back :S

I thought 26 was the max?

Except for Monte Carlo due to the pit constraints.

"At 1990 San Marino Grand Prix Giacomelli was timed at 7:16.212, a mere 424 seconds off the eventual pole time"

David Richardson will want to fund a team. he has wanted to for some time
USF1 will want to jump on the British fame and glory.
If things look up with the global situation maybe Honda might make a comback...
As it looks like they will be the engine supplier for the USF1 team as they supply the main engines for Indy.
