I don't know about anyone else, but I am so glade not to hear that pompis of an bottom Steve Rider's voice on ITV anymore.....I mean between Steve Rider, Mark Blundell and Martin Brundle I couldn't tell you who would preform felatio on Lewis Hamilton and the Mclaren team first...
I myself am a Ferrari first fan, but have no hard feelings toward Mclaren. I think at times the FIA does seem to learn more towards Ferrai's favour in making difficult decissions. Mclaren does have a fantastic car and highly talented drivers, I hope Kovalainen has a great season in 2009. Although I can't say the same for Lewis, no doubt in my mind that boy has made skills, but it makes me sick to my stomac how un-humble that cocky bar steward is. Not to mention the fact that ITV interviews him for every single race build up. There is Steve Rider with the mic in his hand and an ear to ear grim hoping to maybe touch Lewis through out the interviews. We all have our favourites thats fine but they should definatley have a little more respect for other teams and drivers....I was just watching the turkish grand prix of 2008, the camera went to Felipe Massa's dad watching his son, Steve Rider didn't even know his name..."there he is.................Felipe's Dad............" But oh if Lewis's dad happens to appear on screen you can bet your bottom Stevey boy spouts out his name in a hurry....
I don't mind so much Mark Blundell, he does know exactly what he's talking about most of the time and does try to make unbiased oppinions. I could live with out Steve Rider, the other two I don't mind....
I just hope that we have an as exciting Formula 1 season as we did last year, I mean who could ask for more...the final turn of the final race decided the results of the drivers construction championship.....I can't wait for this season to start.

I dont mind Steve Rider, he reminds me of the old bbc days when he would introduce f1 and also part commentate on touring car races.
but I think the way Itv used him wasnt the best, in the pits with Mark Blundell constantly banging on about competitions.
I think Steve would be better than Jake Humphreys.

at the end of the day, I dont hate a lot of people, but Jim Rosenthal used to really wind me up, smug and arrogant, he never liked f1 which at least Steve Rider does.
and that smirk
I could almost imagine Rosenthal asking Tony Jardine , Why?, why do u like f1? why dont u like football? etc etc he really wasnt interested.

Jardine was a bit annoying I always thought too.

As a commentor I really didnt like James Allen, but I did like him on Itv up until about 2000 when he was a pit lane reporter, until he stated shouting and talking me me me all the time.

really like Brundle, especially the pit walks, although my dad always says hes got a bit of a droaning voice and rattles on a bit sometimes during a race, but I like him, he aint as bad as Palmer put it that way.

Walker, Hunt and Rider  and thats not just nostalgia, they where better imo.

Itv did some good specials, like Martins f1 driving school, and the classic grand prix night in 2000, showing old 60s and 70s races.

hated the recent intros with the moby music and the fat samurai, what the hell was that about.

also while Im having a rant

up until a few years ago Itv used to do very good end of show highlight montages, put together really well in such a short space of time.

but they went off the boil and some of the most recent ones where really poorly edited.

I can't bring myself to read past halfway in that, but I think the gist of it is:

ITV bad, BBC good.

I wholeheartedly agree.
