Works like this:-

Every year the existing teams in F1 get to share out the TV money between them. It's a lot of money, for example, Honda would have got 22 million this season, had they still been an F1 team.

That they are not doesn't mean that the people who bought their team get the money. Brawn GP is seen as a new team - hence the start number & the end of the pitlane boxes.

So Brawn GP are down 22 million, assuming they'd calculated their expenses this year including that sum.

(The money gets spilt up between the other teams incidently so they've no chance in hell of seeing it).

yeh i read that, its bad news. Its because Ross Brawn and Nick Fry declined Bernie's help in the management buyout. They didn't want him having a stake in the team. hence Bernie now making comments about Brawn

There's nothing Bernie can do about where the money goes. I'll admit he's probably laughing himself silly about it though.

Crossing swords with Bernie is a dangerous game.

Everywhere I read stated that Bernie has agreed to give the money owed to old Honda team to Brawn GP the sum £45 million. Have you got a link to stating this is no longer the case anymore?

The figures vary but Pitpass has the story as does Motorsport Aktuell.

Makes it worse when you realise that it's the other teams that now get to split up the cash betewen themseleves - there's no way they are going to just let Brawn have it without a complaint is there?

I have read the article from pit pass and I still think Bernie will give them the money. This management buyout was carefully orchestrated between Brawn, Honda, FOTA and Bernie. Brawn would have made sure he had a solid financial foundation for the team before buying it the only reason why Bernie wanted a stake in the team was so he could get in FOTA and that was the reason Brawn turned Bernie down. Bernie wanted the team to continue because he knew it would seriously damage the sport and his profits if the team left F1 altogether so he was willing to give BrawnGP Honda’s share of the commercial rights money.
