Racing career

While Mosley was at University, his wife was given tickets to a motor race at the Silverstone circuit. The circuit was not far from Oxford, and the couple went out of curiosity. Mosley was attracted by the sport, and when his career as a barrister was bringing in sufficient money, he started racing cars himself.[24] The sport's indifference to his background appealed to Mosley:
There was always a certain amount of trouble [being the son of Sir Oswald] until I came into motor racing. And in one of the first races I ever took part in there was a list of people when they put the practice times [...] and I heard somebody say, 'Mosley, Max Mosley, he must be some relation of Alf Mosley, the coachbuilder.' And I thought to myself, 'I've found a world where they don't know about Oswald Mosley.' And it has always been a bit like that in motor racing: nobody gives a darn.[8]
At national level in the UK, Mosley competed in over 40 races in 1966 and 1967; he won 12 and set several class lap records. In 1968, he formed the London Racing Team in partnership with driver Chris Lambert to compete in European Formula Two, the level of racing just below Formula One. Their cars were prepared by Frank Williams, later a Formula One team owner. It was a dangerous time to race. Early in the year, Mosley competed in the Formula Two race at Hockenheim in which double world champion Jim Clark was killed,[25] and within two years both of Mosley's 1968 team mates were dead in racing accidents.[a] Mosley's best result that year was an eighth place at a non-championship race at Monza.[13]

Well you've got to admit it's a lot better than Bernie's attempt at competing at motorsport. 1 race entered, DNQ. :hehe:

I have noticed that all the main men do is lie and talk :bs:
they drop everyone ini'it? I think somthing as great this sport is? they need to leve it the f*u*c*k alone :)
but i think points system should change
1st plce - 10 point
2nd place-9 points
3rd place-8 points
4th place-7 points
5th place-6 points
6th place-5 points
7th place-4points
8.th place-3 points
9.th place-2 points
10th place-1 point
then maybe at the end of the year Force India might look like they have a few points

I can't believe the Hypocrisy of an organization that purports to hold the interests and wishes of the fans to be paramount but on the other hand brings in this medal system that is universally unpopular, People on Forums say they hate it, The vote on the FIA website went against it, all the poles I've seen on other websites are against it, I for my tupence worth Hate it, yet were gonna get it whether we like it or not.

I wish the FIA would just admit they couldn't give a monkeys toss what we think.

Yes. But Mosley remains eternally p!ssed that Ron Dennis did so much better. How can Ron, a mere mechanic rise to such heights when he(Max) born of the aristocracy could not.

Yep. It said similar in the Sunday Times. He said it will be introduced regardless of what people want and he will change the rules to ensure it will be. What a p***k!!

He gets worse. Often, he claims it will be "better for the fans" even when the fans are up in arms against it. He superimposes his own judgment over ours nd that's not cool.
