Massa may have better stats, but Raikkonen has a WDC and Massa doesn't. The only stat that matters

Not really.
Ronnie Peterson, Giles Villeneuve, Stirling Moss, Jon Watson etc have never got a WDC.

does it make them worse than hum...Damon Hill ??

I don't think so.

I think that look just for one kind of numbers(WDC in this case) when you have more numbers to analyze means call yourself as blind.

Felipe Massa is nowhere near the league of GV, Moss and co though. Absolutely nowhere near.

Also the 'stats' aren't even right, Massa has started more races for Ferrari....

I didn't say that Massa is near GV and co. I'm not nuts!!
I just said that WDC numbers don't indicate who's better than who.

And the numbers - as I said on the top of the post - are once they've started to run together for Ferrari.

After all, I'm comparing Massa to Raikonnen...not Massa to Raikonen and Schumacher.

I dare say Massa was the effective title winner of the 2008 title were it not for Glock's deal making.

They are all brilliant drivers and all of them deserved at least one WDC. I am not saying that the number of WDC's you have makes you a better driver. My point is that is well and good having the greatest number of fastest laps, largest number of pole positions etc but all that pales in comparison to saying that you are the F1 champion.

I am sure that Gilles, Stirling etc would all trade in their great driver statistics for one WDC because that means more.

To comment on that.
Drivers have won a WDC when not deserved? J.Villenuve? oh my....he can't drive?
even in his Hay day? Schumi may have played dirty but gosh by comparrison u can see he deserved the title through pure talent?
So in tht Massa is at the moment the more superior driver in my eyes :)
Kimi is doing well but he wont be able to beat Mr.Massa :)

You can't say JV didn't deserve the WDC because he won it fair and square even when Schui tried to punt him off.

Kimi has more raw talent but Massa appears to have a much more positive attitude. If Kimi gets off to a good start and gets some points under his belt early on he could go all the way. A couple of confidnce knocking blows and he'll be playing a support role to Massa again.

Personally I'd always want to see Massa do better as he's one of the genuine 'good guys' in F1 and there aren't many of those!

Michael Schumacher is his mentor. His "goodness" won't last long!

Not saying it wasn't shui but f1 is about Driver + CAR + Team

if one of them mess up you aint going to win the championship or it at least will make it harder

Just because shui was better overall than JV don't mean JV don't deserve his title.

I don't get why schui was so dirty i mean he was the best for the decade or so he was driving but he didn't need to cheat to win.
