Exactly. Any talks about a break-away series always refer to a new series. The most likely name always being GP1.

Bernie already owns that name, I believe.

Everybody knows Ecclestone was preaching that all of the teams were in favour of the "winner-takes-all" points system. But everybody also knew Ecclestone was talking through his arse. Mosley, in thinking fans are stupid, continues to make himself look even more stupid.

The more I hear from these asshats, the more convinced I am they are just rich, old, out of touch geezers who have no idea what they are doing but are convinced that because they are rich, they know more than everyone else. The two of them make me want to vomit and I thank god no series I race in is run by people that ignorant. Oh wait....scratch that. These types seem to rule the world of racing. Never turned a wheel themselves, but their ego makes them believe they know what they are talking about...the only difference between F1's governing idiots and lower level governing idiots is that at the lower levels the idiots are not rich.

Yep he owns that too.
THE GPWC would be the only alternative. However Bernie has exclusive contracts with most of the Circuits around the world. Even those who aren't currently on the F1 calendar.

Interesting to see how this all pans out, even for potential changes for 2010 now, we'll soon see just how much clout FOTA really have... Hopefully enough that the FIA / WMSC have to work with them on an even keel rather than dictate to the teams as per the last few years. :)

As for the recent change followed by reversal; I genuinely think a huge number of people had an over the top knee-jerk reaction to it, I don't think the potential changes would really have made a dramatic difference unless there was another Spa situation in the future, however with the rules in those circumstances now being clarified I can't really see it... That said, there was nothing majorly wrong with the old (and now once again current) points system, so not really a big deal to go back to it. Personally rather than either that, OR the 12 point win system that FOTA were going for, I'd much rather see a 10, 7, 6 etc. system, i.e. 3 point gap from first to second, but maintaining the 10 points for first.

"Max Mosley believed all the teams supported the idea"

Pfffffffffft.

and the budget cap he belives teams supported because two teams showed intrest and he assumed about another.

good way to conduct research that.

the goverment could work like that, they could ask two people if they want to put tax up and then just assume the rest will want it also.

Jeez, who the hell is gpoing to believe that lie, Max? Seriously, sort it out. We already knew categorically that they did not.

And as to someone telling you the teams were cool with it...WHo the hell was it (Clearly not FOTA, who you should have asked) and what made you think you could just blindly believe them without even checking it with the teams themselves?
