Hmmm might have to download this Rfactor but i hate using a keyboard to race :banghead:

I havent read every page in this topic so if its been said oh well but we could organise a Forumula1.com league and have races against each other eh?

Don't suppose you have an Xbox 360 controller, do you? They're half-decent for playing the game - the LT and RT give you some control over the throttle and brakes, at least. :)

Na, i only have PS3 gear, if i get into it i might have to invest in one.

Hey, 7Up, I just saw that you've released your version of Silverstone on rFactor Central. I'll be trying that out shortly :D

I'm attempting to get it uploaded onto mediafire at the moment, internet's being dodgy but I'll post the link as soon as it's up, hope you enjoy the track. :)

EDIT: http://www.mediafire.com/file/wymy0mwyw ... 20V1.0.rar

Cheers :)

I'm liking it so far, although I've only tried it using the new F1 2009 mod (which I think is probably rubbish because I'm finding it easy to drive) and managed a 1:10.401, which I really don't know whether to be happy about or not :hehe:

Edit: 1:08.913 :)

That's a good time as you haven't been driving it for long, just a second off Mansell's lap record pole time from 1990. Well that's a better time than I have managed so far in a 2006 Williams, then again I haven't played rFactor properly for ages. Glad you like the track though. :)

Cool :)

I do think that the Renault in the F1 2009 mod is a little too grippy, to be honest. I say the mod is probably poor because I can't drive the CTDP mods for toffee, but this one is pretty easy. Still, I reckon if I tweak the setup on the Renault and learn the track, I could probably improve my time a fair bit. I've only tried the 1990 layout so far, so still plenty of driving to do :D

What's the latest specs for Running Rfactor, and what is the latest version.
I think my parents got it free with a new notebook they bought. They said it was a 08 version or something. I'm confused though... Do you need to buy any additional graphics cards or that?

I shouldn't think you would need anything else, what are the specs for the notebook?

7Up, do you know if there are any guides to putting together a good setup out there? I'm trying to get some together for the CTDP 2005 mod, but seem to have issues getting things like brake balance and suspension settings right.

Also...did the 2005 Williams car only have a six-speed gearbox? Or is this just a mistake in the mod?

I think there may be some tutorials on rfactorcentral somewhere.

In the 2005 season Williams started with a 7 speed transmission but eventually ditched it for a 6 speed transmission. That's why CTDP put a 6 speed gearbox in.

As soon as my internet stops playing up I'll be uploading another update of my track. The new version has a much smoother Abbey curve and it is no longer bumpy.

Ah, right. Any particular reason?

And cool. I hadn't really noticed too many bumps along there, although knowing me I wasn't taking the right line through the corner anyway :hehe:

what program do you use to create the tracks?

There's a program you can download called "Bobs Track Builder", made by one of your fellow countrymen. The version you download is a demo version, and expires after a while and you need to pay for the full version.

Track making can be quite time consuming, it took me roughly 4 months to make my 1980's Silverstone track, but then again the most time consuming part for me was all the scenery etc.
