Perhaps moving back on topic....

I still think that Alonso is the best all round driver of the current crop. That doesn't mean he's my favourite, or that I think Hamilton / Kimi / Massa / Kubica etc. are bad before any of the partisan plonkers decide to not respect a simple opinion... I think 95% of the drivers on the F1 grid are excellent drivers - some being much better than they're given credit for purely because they're not driving the best cars and can't display that talent as easily.

I say Alonso as being truthful, I still had some doubts in spite of his 2 WDC's after the 2007 season, and what happened there. However what he managed to achieve last season with Renault in spite of how poor the car was in the first half of the season was absolutely phenomenal. That cemented it for me. I'd say that Alonso's one minor weakness is that he can let pressure get to him a little if he's rattled, but I still think he's marginally above the rest of the field on talent alone.

Alonso impressed me in 2007, going into that season I didn't really rate him but drove some great races under intense pressure. I don't know how you can keep your focus and motivation when you're in a situation like that with your team. He earned a lot of respect from me that season.

See how much good luck Kimi had when Juan broke his shoulder, otherwise he'd have been blown away.

How do you figure that? Montoya missing 2 races doesn't account for the fact that Raikkonen scored almost double the points and got more than double his victories that year. He gave him a total beating! :P

Ouch, knowing how defensive racechick is of Mr. Chubby, that'll get you into deep doodoo :P

But i'm totally right on this one aren't I?! So no worries then. :hehe:

Poor JPM injurying his shoulder in training or tennis was it.

Yup.

Yes he missed two races and drove the next ones with a broken shoulder. Have you tried taking those G forces with a broken shoulder. And it wasnt tennis it was motorbykes.
He'd have whupped Kimi without that!

All evidence points to the contrary, even after it had healed Raikkonen beat him fair and square.... :)

Either way JPM was fantastic while in the sport.
An amazing character and I think it would be much better with him still in.

Totally agree - my argument before wasn't just to slate Montoya by any means, just to clarify - who can forget that pass on Schumacher.

Sure. Rcechick your so sad...honestly....you ust do anything to back the fact of you don't like anyone beating lil lewis?
Its bbeyond pthetic now, your a lil id t school that ust sits there and if anyone bd mouths them you stand up and go defensive?
Lewis can't hear you.
This season we'll wit for the first race and see what u say then when they 'Retire'
U need to stop going on defensive? I don't have a prob about Lewis nor McLaren.
ust ome peoples attitude towards other competitors?
Raikkonen is a top driver? he's also the 5th most highest paid sportsman in the world!
he's obviously got somthing right.
