well .. last season was a bad one for Kimi.. He should forget it.. I want Kimi to do the lead role in Ferrari... But to be frank, Massa has improved a lot and gained immense experience in Ferrari. So both kimi and massa are equally good in Ferrari.. lets see whats gonna happen.. But I love to see Kimi do well instead of Massa

On the basis of last season's performance Massa should be number 3. But I suppose because Kimi is a former champion he gets the nod on what is really a trivial matter

Yeah, it eirks me a little that Massa's car is 4 and Kimi is 3. But I guess it's simply because Kimi has a world championship.

But all the same, I'll say that it's going to be Massa who will top Kimi this year. I see peeple claiming often that Kimi will be back with avengence. But they said that last, and Massa totally out-paced Kimi this year. To me it's clucthing at straws, Massa is simply an underated driver.

I think Ferrari shot themselves in the foot last season by not throwing more weight behind Kimi at the start of last season. In the first couple of races, Massa looked like an amateur and Kimi as reigning champion should have had full support. I get the impression that Massa is preferred on a personal level at Ferrari (although that may change now Todt has left).

If Ferrari want to win the WDC next season, they have to adopt a number one driver and it has to be Kimi. I still don't beleive Massa is capable of overcoming adversity in the same way Kimi is and I still don't believe he has Kimi's ultimate pace. Even last season, which was probably Kimi's worst in F1, he won 2 races and was denied at least another 2 through circumstances that were not under his control.

Having said that, Massa deserves to be given the number 3 car next season in recognition of his fine 2008 season.

Massa sure is an underated driver.

I don`t understand why.
After all he almost got the WDC 2008 defeating the best driver of all times(for some people)...he just lost it because Ferrari screwed up with themselves...
and Raikkonen...hum Raikkonen is a great driver...but Massa didn`t even see Kimi`s shadow last year...even between 07-08 and 08-09 seasons( I mean tests) Massa is running faster than Kimi.

Massa reminds me of Montoya in that he has all the skill needed to be extremely fast but lacks the mental ability of the Alonsos, Schumachers and Raikkonens of this world. Plus I'm yet to see him demonstrate any ability to overcome any kind of problem in his races, he can't carve through the pack if he qualifies badly, is a bit average in the wet and gets his head down when things aren't going his way.
Last year was the first time I've seen him successfully and decisively overtake people for serious positions so the tide may be turning...
He made a lot of silly mistakes last year but so did Kimi and Ham boy. For me, Massa relies too heavily on things all going according to plan as well as Rob Smedley and this will always hamper his chances of a championship

Aside Silverstone I don`t remember lots of silly mistakes in 2008...

Massa simply outclassed Kimi last year, and is in my mind the number one driver at Ferrari.

He spun in Australia & in Malaysia.

Yeh he had a pretty awful race in Australia, Spun in Malaysia (that one really was pathetic) then he looked pretty good after that. Silverstone was really poor but i think it was more of a miracle drive from Kimi rather than Massa being awful, you can't underestimate how hard it is to drive an F1 car in the wet on the wrong setup with no heat in your tires. Ferrari got that badly wrong last season. After the pitlane incident in Singapore, he then spun.

As I said, he probably didn't make any more mistakes overall than Hamilton or Kimi. Is it me or do Ferrari have the two most enigmatic drivers in the field?!

He made about four errors all season. That's not too bad, considering the amount that Alonso, Hamilton and Raikkonen made.
