Possibly to control the airflow more? I dunno. I don't really understand the diffuser technology too much. But I'd have thought having something lying at a right-angle to the direction you're travelling would generally create extra drag.

it looks like the carbonfiber wishbone suspension is angled to where it is causing lift???

Yeah, i'd guess Renault are still around the level of Toyota (4/5th fastest so far it seems), but if anyone can drag a victory out of an inferior car it is Alonso, as we have seen many times!

Indeed, which I why I feel he can fight for the title this year - with a bit of luck in the early races. If this really is a season where many teams can win... then surely it is going to be able to keep Alonso in the title fight for a while at least.
However It'll take alot. And as an Renault and Alonso fan i'm being conservative. Certainly it'll only ever be one Renault in the points on a regular basis if any

I can't help but feel that that nasty block thing under the nose of the Renault was there as a hasty response to them failing the crash tests. i would imagine they have found a better solution now.

As for McLaren's diffuser, it doesn't look like they've gone the way of the Brawn, Toyota or Williams.
