Lower formula are a better comparison because there spec formula and more equal.

.

But people improve.

Also you get guys like Raikkonen who spent hardly any time at all in lower formulae.

Lewis is 32%
Vettle is 25%
Alonso is 19%
Felipe & Kimi's is 18%
Heikki is 15%
Kubica is 8%
Rubens is 7%
Button is 3%

Now... take away all the races these guys drove in a Non winning car and then re-do the percentages. Vettel and Kubica are the best. With Barrichelo the worst... so, not a very accurate/reliable list to see who the best driver is right now.

EDIT: by the way... the full list was still nice.

No, Kubica only has 10 wins to his name in Lower Formula

Lewis has 34wins not counting F1 and Karts

Vettle has 29 without F1.

Rubebns has 11, Jenson 14

kinda hard to compare anyway again because Vettle got most of his wins from Formula BMW which Lewis and Kubica didn't compete in

But in Formula 3 Euroseries Kubica manged 1 win across two seasons Lewis manged 16 and Vettle 4

Vettle and Lewis even competed in the 2005 series together Lewis scored nothing but podiums or wins with a few no points finishes Vettle got alot of no points finishes with a few podiums

Lewis won the series Followed by Adrian Sutil, Vettle came 5th.

Its VETTEL!!
Not Vettle.

Dyslexic...

Massa is a good example, too. He came in to Formula One with far too little experience.

Oh, are we not counting the 2001 Sauber as a Formula Ferrari machine?

Sorry, had to.

Yeh but Lewis ratio so far in F1 is pretty good.

Its hard to compare current drivers at diffrent ages because Lewis could do a Kimi one year.

But Currently i'd say the best driver is Lewis based on his past formuala experience and his 2 seasons in F1.

Yes, of course. But not all of them have the same lower formula experience and again... its alot of data to deal with. I say... best driver is the one you like most. Except Lewis :)

how you do in the lower formulae usually helps you get into said race winning car does it not?

Are you joking? a good F1 driver cannot only be took on the
skills in the car? Fellipe Massa ost the title in the last 5 seconds?
He got on that podium and told the Brasillians to stop shouting boo and
get up and cheer for him! thts true sportsmenship?
lewis would have told the brits to rip Massa in half?

Lewis smashed Kimis car into pieces? Kimi should have smashed the twats hed in?
No he pointed at the light. Didn't bitch and told him how it was.
Lewis would have cried and would have sued?

So.....Lewis has done nothing but whine and complain throught out the season?
You never see JB doing that? he will say yeah the cars crap dont get ya hopes up...lewis cries....
there a shamble to our country.

http://www.driverdb.com/win-percentage/

Lewis is the only F1 driver in the top 100 of win %

Its not that acurate since its his total career and not every f1 drivers path to the top is the same.

However

Lewis is 32%
Vettle is 25%
Alonso is 19%
Felipe & Kimi's is 18%
Heikki is 15%
Kubica is 8%
Rubens is 7%
Button is 3%

erm, *cough* Bourdais is 87 with 23% and Vettel was 67.
Hulkenburg is only a test driver right now, but his percentage is 29% putting him at 32.

This also highlighted for me what wasted talent there is with Paffett. He's now 27 and still knocking on the door to F1. He's been brilliant in the lower catergories. Same can be said for Di Resta. If you want a drive in F1, a McLaren test driver is not the place to be. Paffett needs to start looking at other options. USF1 are starting next year, and he should get himself in there with a shout. You can't sit around and just wait for McLaren to promote you. Rather than aimlessy racing a year old car in DTM, he should be testing for teams like STR or Force India.

It amazes me how these guys get overlooked when you have drivers on the feild like Buemi, Nakajima and Piquet. I remember James Allen saying that there where no future megastars on offer this year, like we've had in the past with Hamiliton, Vettel and Kubica. Which I agree with. GP2 we had Pantano winning the championship, who no one in F1 even looked at simply because he's not really fast. Grosjean struggled a bit with the car I'd say. Senna is still early days with only 4 years experience, whilst Di Grassi is more like Wurz. He could set-up the car magnifincinatly and feed back every bit of info you need about the car, but lacks that raw speed. Really the talent this year was stuck in the role of Redundant test driver at McLaren.

Just my rant for today :D

He'll go to Force India if Fisi or Sutil arn't up to scratch and DTM is pretty compative to be fair ands done really well at it.

I think i'd trust Mclaren to pick drivers, there's a reason they have gone for Hekki over Parraftt perhaps hes very consistant but not very fast.

He's 2nd reserve driver too so De La Rosa would get picked over him.

Honestly i think we'll see him or De La Rosa at Force India soon.

Don't confuse the media with the opinions of british F1 fans if massa had of won i wouldn't of been happy mainly because of spa but i would still of said good job to him.

Can you spell Hypocrite, Kimi Moaned about tyres, Engine, Chassis to the extent they gave him a new chasis Lewis didn't moan at all to be fair he just came out with the usual "were working hard as a team to get it sorted" or "the team did a really good job on the car"

LOL obviously never watched F1.

Your a typical troll.

sure, but it's not the only factor.
For example, Piquet would not have gotten his seat if he would be alongside Heikki, and Lewis would not have gotten his seat without a solid driver alongside. Massa... would have probably not gotten into Ferrari without MS / Kimi there, and without his relationship with Jean Todt... And Bourdais would be the TOP candidate for an F1 seat.

Just because he's won in Indy car don't mean hes gonna win at F1.

Hes alright but look at Mansell he won the WDC then went over and won the Indy car relativly easily in his 1st year.

Diffrent level of driver mate.
