How is Webbers quailying apart from the bad luck (did his brakes explode in australia last year)?

It's tough to say. Massa improved a hell of a lot as a driver last season, and after coming so close to winning the title, he'll no doubt believe he has unfinished business and want to go one better. On the other hand, Raikkonen is the more gifted of the two, and if he puts in the required amount of effort, you'd probably expect him to shade Massa over a season.

Webber is a great qualifyer, like front row at Silverstone last year. He has been faster than all of his teammates in his F1 career, so Vettel should give him a run for his money.

Webber is a great qualifyer, like front row at Silverstone last year. He has been faster than all of his teammates in his F1 career, so Vettel should give him a run for his money.

I dont think Webber will roll over for Vettel. Webber will be the one giving a run for money. Hope he does!!
ps. Silverstone quali was sound, going backwards down the track not so good. But thats all part of his bad luck story. Lets hope he sorts it.

Massa for me and as McLaren Fan mentioned he has unfinished business this season just as Lewis did last season and that is a very motivating factor imho.

Kimi had a strong 1st half of season while Massa floundered during that period. Then they swapped places. Kimi had the most epic on track battle with Hammy since 1979, but ended up crashing. In those circumstances, losing it and retiring is forgivable, it can happen to the best of them. It meant he was trying to be the best. That's what the team asks of him. There's smoething I can't put my finger on that that tells me he's in another league above the rest of the field, but has enough faults to prevent his exploiting that.

Kimi. He needs to be. Another embarrassing string of poor performances and relegation to support driver will probably be it for the Kimster in F1. I cant see him being retained for such large $$$$ while coming second to Massa all the time. Especially with Alonso wasting his talent in the Renault (IMHO). At the same time I can't see Kimi taking a second tier drive just to stay in the sport.

As much as Massa has improved over the past twelve months Raikkonen surely is the better driver. For one he is a World Champion whereas Massa is not. That isn't the deciding factor though. We can't use Statistics, but when you look back at their careers, Kimi has not only had more success, but has put in the better drives. Remember Massa's driving style at Sauber was always questioned by the likes of Martin Brundle?

Kimi has just given up it seems, but surely he has as much to be motivated about as Massa?
He has to prove he is still top dog.
