Well put it this way. We won't be seeing that in Aus because if McLaren are as slow as that then no way are they going to get near the ferrari's.

Lets just hope that McLaren was heavy.

I don't think that fuel could explain that. That really is shocking.

Edit: Slightly random note, but I've been watching videos of last week's tests and it appears that Raikkonen has been driving in a car with the number four on it whilst Massa has been driving the number three car. I thought Ferrari had gone the other way?

Nope, I think only Brawn went the other way on the numbering.

I dont see how the regulation changes overall would make too much of a difference to standing starts, at least not in the 1st 100-200m

If the car can't create enough rear grip, it can't put down enough power to accelerate quickly.

The only thing i can think of was maybe McLaren weren't using KERS. I mean if you want to test how much you're getting from it you need a controll without it at some point. Or am i just being hopeful.

Also just rewatching it, when McLaren reach the line the difference is about the same but over the same distance after the Ferrari is i just about level but i suppose this could also be due to Ferrari getting more down force at speed giving them more grip.

I thought that video was posted. Meh, the story about was any way.

But yes, McLaren clearly lacking rear grip. I mean, the difference between Kimi and kovy was like being 5th and 2nd on the grid, and still Kimi was ahead in no time whatsoever. I doubt it was KERS. I'd say McLaren are running KERS 24/7. A little bit can be blamed on only getting to know the cars though, but it's a definite problem. The new McLaren simply lacks rear grip. A lot by the looks of things, since the car looks perfectly fine anywhere else.

But thats racing, a team can't always be on top. Even Ferrari's dominant run came to an end in 05. But only time will tell if McLaren can sort things out, no pointing clutching straws.

Even though I think won't even look at this tests anymore...I'm getting nervous and really anxious...
