So if I'm a creationist. Does that make you all evolutionists? I'm not "enforcing," but arguments of evolution or creation are trivial, because, thanks to Mr. Darwin, we can prove either one. For thousands of years humans believed in a God who created everything. Now, in the past 150 years, more and more people believe in evolution.

50 years ago, it was not uncommon for people to have a faith. Now, we are discouraged from talking about religion, people view you as being wierd for going to church once a week, or praying 5 times a day at a mosque, or, preaching from door to door.

But then again, Jehovah's Witnesses were put in concentration camps 50 years ago, so yeah, perhaps everyone's just stayed the same.

Religion is a means of control for the un-educated as people become more educated the more silly religon becomes.

Why do you say belive in evolition like its a kind of religion its not a case of beliving its a case of understanding the simple thing is creationalist's don't understand it or they wouldn't belive in crealtionalisim.

Because creationism was taught first! But I'm glad you put it that way. It's not a case of believing, it's a case of understanding. Unfortunately, I don't understand. It's more or less because I don't want to understand. The fossil record doesn't prove it. The platypus doesn't prove it. Well, it may prove it, but you cannot rule out creationism. (If that is a word.)

But you have to understand, for thousands and thousands of years, everyone has believed that there is God. And everyone has believed that we were created. And since Darwin, this has changed. Why?

So, I look at a platypus and think: "Wow, a loving Creator must have designed this amazing creature."

You look at a platypus and think, "This is a great example of evolution."

So, I apologise for saying that evolution is wrong. But, I can see no evidence to support evolution over creation. Now, if you guys are going to have a go at me for stating my opinion, because it's wrong, then I suggest that evolution should not be taught at schools. That is enforcing ideas upon people!

What I have done in this thread is nowhere near as enforcing as being forced to learn it in schools, and being threatened to lose marks if you don't. And I would refuse to think anything other than the fact that there is a loving creator who cares. I have seen evidence in the fact that my religious way of life gives people a positive opinion on me. I have morals, unlike many other teenagers my age who don't. Look at the lives they are living!

My mum wasn't able to care for us, and with dad out of the picture, I'm doing alright and I believe that's with God's help, if you guys can understand that. I had a doctor who is not a believer the other day, say "Someone's looking out for you." And I thought about it and said, "Yeah. I guess you're right." :D

Charles Darwin: 1809-1882
Just to name a few people who did not believe there's a god and preceded Darwin:
Denis Diderot: 1713-1784
Paul-Henri Thiry, Baron d'Holbach: 1723-1789
Marquis de Sade: 1740-1814
David Hume: 1711-1776
Many from classical antiquity such as Diagoras, Critias, Democritus, etc.

So your statement is utterly false! :banghead:

And who are these people, may I ask? And it's not "utterly false" - it just puts me off by another 150 years. :D So, let me re-itterate:

But you have to understand, for thousands and thousands of years, everyone has believed that there is God. And everyone has believed that we were created. And since (Darwin X)David Hume, this has changed. Why?

I don't know why I'm wasting my time with you - maybe it's my teaching credentials
Just do some research, read up on things, get a rounded education before you continue spouting nonsensical half-truths.
BTW: antiquity puts you off by more than 2000 years.

Well to be honest then mate if you don't understand it then don't comment on it. Your making some bold statements there and placing them as fact yet they just speculation based on nothing.

For thousands and thousands of years people belived the earth is flat. Colubus discovered the west indies and America, we now know it to be round.

The same thing applies to evolotion it was discovered by Dawin and now we know it to be fact hence why peoples view's have changed.

Nothing wrong with Morals, don't need a preacher or god to tell me that i shouldn't steal, or kill tho.

WOW what a thread! :morepopcorn:

I find monkeys quite boring, not funny or cute or anything so I didn't bother looking at this thread for ages.
MISTAKE! Someone should change the thread title to 'Epic theological/biological debate this way'

Just to keep things rolling, I find it astonishing how many people reject Darwin's ideas in the 21st century! it may not prove to be ultimately true but it is by far the best theory we have right now

But how can you accept Darwin's theory when there are more obvious explanations? Take for instance FSM. It just makes too much sense to not be true!

Everyone has their own opinion and they will not matter after 12/21/'12 so I say lets all just go fishing!

Interesting thought about the idea of the earth being flat. In the book of Isaiah, it tells us the earth is round. And that was written almost 2500 years ago! It also talks about the water cycle, and Psalms (I think) talks about the earth "hanging upon nothing." Written 3000 years ago.

I can't believe I'm the only person on this thread who thinks we were created. :(
