Melborune Victory defeat Adelaide "Pissant" United in the 2008/2009 Australian A-League Football Grand final to be champions. Score 1 - 0. I was at the game wearing my Chelsea FC jersey (Sorry I haven't got a Melbourne Victory one but no big deal as I saw heaps of people with EPL jerseys and Serie A jerseys etc as well a sea of Melbourne Victory jerseys and a far smaller amount of Adelaide United jerseys). Crowd 53,200. Full house at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. Poor Adelaide. They lost to Melbourne in the Grand Final again. But it is an improment for them as this time they lost only 1 - 0. In the 2006/2007 final they lost 6 - 0. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D:hehe::thumbup:

:yawn: didnt even know the game was on. dont think its even broadcast on free to air TV here, no one cares :hehe:

Sure no one cares. You would care if Adelaide had won. The reason why it isn't on free to air is because Fox Sports has bought all the rights to the A-League. If say channel 10 or 9 or 7 could afford the rights they would be showing the games and that is a fact and you know it. And what more is a fact is that the record crowds at Etihad Stadium (ex Telstra Dome by name) is from the two A-League finals of yesterday and of 2 years ago when Melbourne also played Adelaide United. Only the A-League has achieved maximum capcity at that statdium. Looks like the records are with real football and not AFL and that ground was primarily designed for AFL. No one cares? Yeah right. Your team lost. Deal with it. :thumbup:

That's ok the AFL play their big games at the MCG because the Dome is too small! The AFL grand final gets 100k+ to their GF
And limiting your coverage to pay tv is like media coverage suicide

Your're Cut Bad. :yes::hehe:

By the way the MCG is too big thus crap. I watched a football friendly there, Australia versus Greece. There were 90,000 spectators and I was on the level 4 stand. The players looked like ants. Too big of a stadium insn't good. But hey the real football game got the big crowd then and it was only a friendly. And wow Australia bet then current European Champions 1-0 and went on to play in the world cup of 2006 a month later to lose to the eventual champions Italy by only 1-0. Now if Australia would fully concentrate all their efforts into football and forget AFL, they will soon be a world football power like the likes of Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, England, France etc. :wavey:

You are cut very badly. :rofl: Stirring you up is easy.

Football or soccer as you wish to call it is played by Australians and many Australians go to the games as I experienced at the Melbourne Victory versus Adelaide United game. (I assume the majority of the crowd were Australian even though a vast majority like every where in Australia are what you call ethnic). So therefore Australians like Australian things football/soccer being one of them. And on Saturday the Victory bet Adelaide United again and you are cut, and the more you pretend that you are not, the worse you will make it on yourself. :hehe: But I must comment, Vidmar which is the Adelaide United coach and former Australian player, the surname is Slovenian. I looked him up. His dad is Slovenian Italian. (Like me) Those are the exact words in the Wikipeida entry. Must be a legend then. :wink: Too bad he wasn't able to have Adelaide become champions this time around as well.

I see, so you prefer to wtch those stupid Adelaide Crows instead. I will let you in a little something. A few people I know persuaded me to go to the NAB Cup game Geelong versus Adelaide Crows. Played at Telstra Dome one week exactly prior to the A-League Grand Final. Apart from the dismal 10,000 crowd, the game was BORING! Oh and your Adelaide got thrashed in that game as well. So in the end Adelaide are crap at football, that weather it is "soccer" or "AFL". Are you cut now? :hehe:

Well that is what makes it exciting. Low scoring and waiting for the moment to celebrate in joy. When a goal is scored in football there is all that wild cheering and jumping and hugging by players and spectators alike because it takes longer and it is harder to score that emotion us built up. In AFL they score to easily that it becomes a bore. And also the type of game is simply boring of you compare it to football. They have I believe little AFL league across Europe. Even in Croatia and Italy and also in Asian countries like Japan. It wont take off because the people find it boring compared to the real football. It isn't only me so what do you want me to say. And oh I remember you said you watch Adelaide United play Gamba Osaka in the AFC Final. You said you have never watched a game. Liar. You are cut. Melbourne won again. But hey that is something you are used to. Even in AFL melbourne based clubs usually beat Adelaide sides. :wavey:

you know whats boring AKR.......... AKR!! :wavey:

Yeah i watched about ten minutes of that game whilst channel surfing, its not as though i planned to watch the game thus no interest! :thumbup:

and as you say theres so much build up when they score so when its a 0-0 draw you still find that exciting? thats why theres so much singing and chanting and bashing going on in the soccer crowds its because its bloody boring between drinks :rofl:
in AFL scoring isnt the only exciting part of the game, theres the "speccy" or high mark, theres crunching tackles or magic moves that make you wonder how he evaded the opponents. in AFL you need to be fast, tough, solid agile skilled with not only your feet but your hands. it takes use of your whole body! and a point i would like to make it would be easier for an AFL player to adapt to scoccer than the other way around. soccer players just are s*** with their hands they catch like girls :rofl:

and again AKR just because Soccer is the world game followed by the majority aka "AKR" sheep, does not make it the best game or most skilled game so get off your high horse and have abit of respect for something that is older than your beloved English Football :yawn:
