I wouldn't say that Turkey and China need to go. Lets be honest, China has hosted some great races, it was only the the 08 race that was really boring. As for Turkey, considering the domination of Massa at that circuit, I'd say pretty great that the place has still held interesting Gran Prix's.

Besides, you can't always blame the track for boring races. You're always going to have few races which are processions.

Despite this their grandstands are always bare. Why should fully packed Grand Prix's be subjected to an uneasy future to be replaced by a sea of empty concrete grey?

i think it could be more of a cost factor. Im sure Germany has alot of race fans, hence why the other events get big turn outs. But F1 is just so damn expensive for normal people, and when you put it in comparison with say the DTM for value for money etc.

The costs of going to see a Grand Prix now are not much different from 2006. Schumacher has retired and the fanbase has evanesced.

Yes, but its a mixture of the two.
Schumacher fans would stretch to go to these events. With their hero gone, they won't pay the high ticket prices with nobody to support. It's a sad reality.
I dunno why the Germans are like this - British fans turn out in droves most years - even before Hammy.
When Alonso retires will the Spanish really care anymore? Some probably will. but not in the same droves, much like the Germans now.

I think the majority of German race fans are sports car fans. When you look at sports car races in Germany theres a crap load of fans!!

I live in Germany & if there's 1 thing that stands out about Germans it's their stingyness* - the sportcar races are way cheaper than F1 & so is the DTM. Note that the German GP is also the cheapest in the EU & they still struggle to get people in.

*ok, they don't like spending their money unless they canm be fairly sure of watching 1 of their countrymen winning too. & they have to ask their wives for the money & the only thing stingier than a German man is his wife.

Thats what I thought. The common German race fans, from what I've observed, are almost exactly like common American race fans. Germans and Americans are very patriotic, and usually follow their own series like DTM where its Mercedes and Audi, and like Nascar where its Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc. And will only watch F1 if they have a competitive driver in the series.

Its great to know that a German is on this forum, I like Germans. :wavey: Especially German chicks. :D
