Other than the dad/stepmom and mom/stepfather I dont know but I think I know what your asking bud. Tell me if I'm on the right track, one can only get a citizenship passport through a blood relative? Does this make sense ?

Ah I forgot about those two my bad.

On another note does anyone remember when I posted that I had traced online the Travis name back to England and there are records dating back to 1066 AD? Well I did alittle more online research and foundout that the origin of the Travis name goes back to Normandy and the name came from the French word traverser, to traverse, meaning to move across, over or through an area. Since bridges and roads were not always public properties hundreds of years ago, owners often charged a toll. The person who guarded the gate to the bridge or watched over the road collected the toll for crossing. That occupation evolved into the surname Travers and given name Travis.

It sounds like the Travis's started out enforcing the rules and regulations of the land almost 1000yr's ago! Sorry just having some fun but I'm really digging this search and I registered at ancestry.com and posted a request in their general forum section. Well I now have a professional genealogist helping me with my search.

Anyway thanks for enduring my rant as I find this subject very exciting.

As for the British/Welsh thing. If I did not believe in the Union I would not of spent over a decade working for the unions armed forces. On the flips side my son was born in Cyprus so hopefully he will not get called up for greek national service

I rekn youll be safe with him not being called up for the Greco armed forces if you were there as a civilian and were living there and working in Greece then it may be quite different.

just a side note does he have a Greek passport or only British?
