As Kiki turned, she went nose first into Lewis, who had been following her. Lewis staggered back and spilled his cranberry juice over his white Egyptian cotton Hugo Boss shirt. Kiki thought to herself, oh this is so perfect, but once again was polite. She grabbed a very small napkin and apologized while slightly padding the stain. She was holding back the laughter on the inside. Lewis said, "Well I don't get too many people who refuse a drink from me, let alone make me wear one. You must not like me very much." Kiki, thought to herself, I don't like you at all. She said "Well???" Lewis said "It's quite loud in hear, can we go somewhere and talk?" Kiki said, "We can go to Jazz Club Gajo, but you are driving." Lewis said fair enough. Kiki was hatching a plan.... She knew it would be dangerous... and it involve risking her own safety...

The Opal...

Kiki stood on the edge as the valet pulled up... It was black... but it looked like a diamond... It was deep as midnight. It was beautiful, but yet an abomination.... It was the McLaren SLR. It looked so different in real life under the sparkling night life, almost from another world. The valet opened the passanger door and Kiki could not move, her feet were planted and would not go one in front of the other. Lewis said come on then, which somehow broke the evil transe that vexed her. She took a deep breath and thought "I will do this for the tifosi" and entered with reckless abandon into the cacoon of the beast..

As the door closed and sealed off like an air tight space ship, Lewis feathered the throttle and said, which way? Kiki knew what she had to do. "Make a left here" Kiki said. 5 kilometers ahead lay dead mans curve... She was hoping that she could make it out alive, but what she knew for sure was it would not be pretty.....

1 kilometer of the smoothest Slovenian road comes to a blind crest to reveal 150 meters to a make sure you have your affairs in orderright hand turn. If you don't get it right. you die... The SLR's 615hp ate up road like candy. As they approached the straight, Kiki said, "Well how fast will this thing go?" Lewis said pretty fast. Kiki said, "Theres nothing but clear road ahead of you.." Lewis went from 100kph to 200kph in one pause. Kiki felt the G-Force pinning her to her seat, snatching her breath like a strong gust of wind. As she looked ahead she saw the disappearing crest coming at her like she was riding a bulllet to a target. She clinched her jaw and winced, but never closed her eyes for one second.

Time slowed down to a crawl. Every second felt like an eternity. The McLaren SLR crested the hill and left Terra Firma briefly. Lewis said "Oh my God..." not loudly.. but as if he was surrendering to his fate.. As the McLaren return to earth, all four tires let out a plume of smoke, just as 747 does when it touches down. Kiki looks at Lewis and for the first time and is somewhat melancholy. Time still crawling, she first looked at his special Monaco Diamond Encrusted Tag Heuer and followed it down to his left hand..

Two fingers.. CLICK-CLICK-CLICK.... A deep churning noise begins to cavitate from the guts of the beast. The sensation was so tactile she could hear the hydralics of the transmission going to work. Everything was trying to come online!!! The churning began to speed up.. THE ENGINE WAS SYNCING WITH THE TRANSMISSION!!!............. It didn't matter... Lewis was carrying to much speed. Just as he would brake and lock front tire, diving in deep in the MP4/23, He locked rear tire... The back end was steping out to the left. Lewis thought to himself Hook baby!! Hooookk!!!! What apex he had, seemed to have come and gone.. One last shot.. "Diamond Cut!"

Diamond Cut....

Lewis knew there was only one chance for survival as the car was going away from him. At once he released the brake and it was as if God came down and put his finger on the roof and said "Be Still"... The slide was no longer. And like a master craftsman shaping a diamond, Lewis snapped the steering wheel to the right, not too little and not too much as if he where one with the car. Then slightly on the power... a little more power....POWER!!! Off in the far distance the sound of thunder could be heard..... He had made it through dead mans curve..... However after catching traction... the inertia transfered all of energy to the right.. We all know what it feels like... Kiki knew what was next...

The SLR did a full 180 degrees and slide off the road unto a gravel shoulder. As it came to a stop, Kiki realized they didn't hit anything. The car was off, but her senses, still being at spiderman levels, she noticed the acrid smell of ceramic breaks, tires, exhaust, the unspent fuel that lingered in the air. She could hear the ticking of the highly charged electrons coming from the silent engine block. She could feel the heat coming through the fire wall. She looked at Lewis. His eyes where still fixed on the road ahead... He was silent. His grip on the steering wheel had turned his supple brown skin to a few shade lighter than normal... "Lewis?" "Yes Kiki." "Are you OK?"

Lewis lunged over and kissed Kiki.. he kissed her really hard with such passion and vigor. Kiki fought it. She wanted to push him away, but it... it... was so good....

Immediately Lewis backed away and apologized for his actions. "I'm sorry Kiki, I haven't felt this way in a long time. On the track it's dangerous, but it's a calculated danger that I live with everyday. I know every track that I race.. However tonight reminded me of how fragile life is.. We can't always see whats coming over the next hill." Kiki, took Lewis' hand and said its ok. They both smiled and gave a small chuckle and then a hearty laugh...

Lewis started up the car and they headed off to Jazz Club Gajo. As they arrive to the bar, "Johnny Walker Black!" Lewis said to the barternder. "I normally don't drink, but I think I need one after that expirience" he said to Kiki.

Kiki had to figure it out again..... She had the opportunity to dispose of one of the greatest thorns in her sides and she let it get away.... She could have another... but the more time she spent with Lewis, the more difficult that job became...
