Ferrari seem to have special financial ties with the organisers of the competition. How can that be fair for the rest of the sport? How can an appeal or a racing incident be heard featuring Ferrari and the teams feel that they have a real chance of being understood? Is there a solution, or should we just accept Ferrari's status? Will it change when Ecclestone and Mosley leave the sport?

Well, why? I'm looking to understand the situation better - which is why I asked so many questions. As a casual fan, that's how it seems.

Ferrari get more money and favours. (the latters been obvious even to the casual viewer). The amount of money was only revealed when Bernie threw a strop at montezemelo. Montezemelo appears to be working with the teams now, lets hope so, it would be nice to see a fair fight for a change.

Formula One isn't fair. Whilst it's impossible in this world to have an absolutely perfect system, big changes at the FIA and FOM must happen. The sport is run in a biased and unprofessional manner.

Im not sure that a change at the top will do anything. One of Max's buddies will more than likely get his job when goes. Furthermore I think Bernie is the lesser of two evils when comparing him to the CVC who will treat Formula One more for their financial gain than anything else. At least Bernie has F1 in his blood.

Given Bernie's revelation of the extra money Ferrari got, does anyone know if this will still apply for this season or will all the Teams now be on equal money? The sport needs to appear to be as fair and as transparent as possible to regain some credibility after all the revelations and mud slinging.

Ecclestone: Ferrari is F1's most important team

Any chance Ferrari had of putting to rest claims of favouritism have been shot down by Bernie Ecclestone's admission that Ferrari is the only team that F1 couldn't do without.


With the world in the midst of a financial crisis, Formula One has already seen one team, Honda, pull out of the sport ahead of this year's Championship.

However, should others also find the going too tough, Ecclestone is confident that F1 will survive - but only if one of those teams is not Ferrari.


"It's bad for me to say this," he told the Financial Times, "but the only team we would really say we would miss is Ferrari."


However, that doesn't mean Ecclestone would be happy if other big names such as McLaren or Williams left the sport. "I wouldn't want to lose McLaren for sure. I wouldn't want to lose Williams."


Unfortunately for Ferrari, Ecclestone's comments will add to continuous rumours that the Scuderia is the favoured team above all others.

People such as Mosley are only a symptom of the problems with the FIA. There is no accountability etc. When Mosley eventually goes, there will still be the chance for another dictator to emerge.
