Another fugly car - this year will be hard to watch them monstrosities

I really don't agree. I thought the '09 generation of F1 cars would be aesthetically challenging, to say the least, but whilst they're not especially beautiful to look at, especially with the apparent mismatch between the front & rear wings, they're far from ugly. I've been peasantly surprised by the look of the first few to break cover, but compared to the interim BMW-Sauber they're gorgeous.

The car looks really good. I'm really liking the 2009 cars actually. Well, Toyota excluded.

Anyways, this is an interesting little detail

The exhaust is all covered up. Probably for cleaner air-flow.

Anyways, I think the McLaren is winning in terms of looks. It deffinetly looks more robust than the ferrari. Also, I've only noticed now how thin the ferrari is. The sidepods are all squashed thin.

I actually like the Toyota more and here's why:

The front of the MP4-24 is brilliant, however I really dislike the rear-end. However, I think this is solely down to the colours. I think it would look much better in the old West McLaren-Mercedes livery. :)

On a slightly different note, my money is still on Williams being the best-looking car yet again.

The best looking car so far  ... until the Williams launch on Monday. ;)

It's nice to see a return of numbers on the rear wings, not much of that in recent years.

DANG  The McLaren is fine as hell. The best looking one so far, so does that mean the Force India will look like this too except of course for the livery?

It looks to me like the rear wing of the McLaren isn't as high as some of the other cars? Is that so or just an illusion? Is it reg to have them so stupidly high now, or just something teams have done to get more rear traction from the new narrower wings?

There are some loopholes in regulations it seems, for the Ferrari and Toyota have managed to fit them as well.

At least Ferrari tried to disguise theirs. Toyota just thought it would be a good idea to stick on two plates of carbon fibre, blend them in with the rest of the car's livery and hope nobody notices :hehe:
