I used to watch it during 2000 to 2002/3.

When the likes of Austin and Rock were there it was very entertaining. I remember the Invasion Storyline, Rock vs Austin at WM17/WM19, Fatal Four Way at WM16. They were all classics IMO, lots more.. too many to name.. 1 more! Icon vs Icon match at WM18? was it.. great match, the rematch ruined it though :(

I used to watch WWE a little bit, but many years ago. It is boring now. The storylines and personae are dreadful. Also, Stacy Keibler is no longer a diva. :hehe:

I go through phases of watching it - but not having Sky Sports or a fast internet connection to torrent all the episodes kinda makes it difficult to watch it.

TNA was mint when i first got into it a few months before Kurt Angle joined, but they went over the top by putting clauses on every match... kinda gets boring.

I started watching WWE late in 1999, that was the best period of it imo with the Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon storylines, i have been watching sporadically since then, getting back into it when DX were reformed, but i haven't seen anything since about Summerslam this year.

The WWF/E has been going in the wrong direction for years now.
Do you know their TV shows are now rated PG in America? That is completely going against the Attitude Era.
The Attitude era of 97-2002 was amazing. The McMahon/Stone Cold fued made the business and crushed the WCW. But underpinning that you had great superstars like The Rock, Triple H, Mankind, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker etc.
Then WCW goes under and everything turns s***. Vince (although he is a genius imo) basically s*** all over WCW and ECW in the Invasion storyline, not letting any WCW superstar thatcame over to the WWF hold the WWF title, instead the Rock won the WCW and they made Stone Cold change sides.

One of the final straws for me was when they made the 2 rosters. It has ruined it compared to before, take the tag team competition, it is terrible on Raw and Smackdown.

They could easily bring it all back together, but they won't.
Sadly the superstars don't have the same impact as before.
John Cena goes back to the "kiddy" era of Hulk Hogan, not the realism of the Attitude era.
And on Smackdown they are relying on Jeff Hardy (who despite being a great wrestler, was a mid carder a few years ago) to be the main face.

You still have the likes of the Undertaker, but it just isn't the same.
The better newer superstars are the likes of Randy Orton.

Edge is still the best though.

TNA doesn't help the WWE because it isn't strong enough to pose a serious competition. It was an interesting format when it started, but it really has went downhill.
Christian appears to be going back to the WWE and Angle.
Mind you The Rock said he'd return to the ring if Sting ever switched, but he'll never.

First of all its great that there is another wrestling fan on the forum! I have watched it since I was a little kid and still do to this day (a little sporadically honestly). You are right that once Vince had no competition wrestling went down the tubes. WWE is now for kids instead of young adults. I honestly believe in a couple years they will Barney and the Teletubbies in a match for the intercontinental title! I still watch though because once in a while the WWE get it right. The recent Chris Jericho/Shawn Michael's feud was awesome!

The reason why Vince has made WWE a PG programme is because he wants his shows to be regarded as family entertainment. The whole family can sit down and The Simpsons and enjoy it but with wrestling people still look down on it saying its "fake". It is for this reason why Vince doesn't get as much money during the advertising slots for RAW and Smackdown compared to more "mainstream" entertainment. So unless TNA get their act together and start competing against WWE instead of being WWE Lite the pro-wrestling industry will continue down this path terrible storylines, dull characters and annoying play-by-play commentary. :irked:

The fact that WWE are still relying on a now washed-up Undertaker and Triple H - the stars of yesteryear - to spice things up really says a lot about the complete lack of new talent in the company. It should also send a message to McMahon about what the fans want to see: great personae and exciting storylines. Sadly, WWE are not listening to their fan base. It is unsurprising, though, for McMahon has many parallels with Ecclestone.

Well first off Triple H has still got a lot of years ahead of him in the business, and he's well within his limits to carry on at the top. I'd agree about the Undertaker, he still is a legend, but i'd expect 2 more Wrestlemania's out of him then he would lose his winning streak.
The Best thing Mark Calaway could do was put someone over and be defeated, but looking at who could be projected due to this win, shows the weakness of new talent.

Triple H and Stephanie Mcmahon are going to end up running the WWE when Vince calls it a day. And you've seen for many years how backstage politics have seen Triple H s*** all over people.
The Evolution era was a joke at how little he would put someone over and how quickly he would win the fued.

It speaks volumes when the current WWE champion, though gifted in the ring, was nothing more than a midcarder say 5 years ago. And that isn't because he's suddenly got better, its more things have went backwards.

Im sick of John "The Second Coming of Hulk Hogan" Cena.

I appreciate that Triple H has still got a lot left in the tank, but the fact remains that he is one of the older generation. In 2009 there should be people capable of replacing him.

Also, like I said, bring back Stacy Keibler. :cloud9:

lol yes, I think it's not more about replacing HHH its more that there is a lack of wrestlers who can fight with him at his level.
Who can pull off main events. At the moment there is nobody

What about Kennedy, MVP, Matt Hardy or Shelton Benjamin? All of these stars have the ability to main event Wrestlemania but Vince isn't interested in this because they are not built like bodybuilders. The problem is not the talent it is just that Triple H is married to the bosses daughter. simple as that

Yes it is true, Vince does love his body builders, but I think the Hardys have been over with the crowd for so long, that it is only now that they are being recognised.
It is going to be hell when HHH and Stephanie take over... the backstage politics envolved are terrible in the WWE right now.
