I've done my part. Its nice that the FIA aren't going to change it if the public don't like it.

It such a stupid idea though. I see where he's coming from, but he is clearly trying to solve a problem that isn't really there. The medal system is flawed on so many levels. He really hasn't thought this through nearly enough. Its probably about time for the old man to step down. Poor bloke is loosing his marbles.

It would be so easy to simply adjust the point system adequately so that BE's concerns would be fully addressed: have a bigger spread between the winner and the second and third placed drivers - DUH! :banghead:

I find it interesting that it doesnt show the results of the vote.

Yes, I could easily imagine the FIA simply saying that the result of the vote was whatever they wanted. Does anything think the FIA isn't corrupt enough to do this?

Did my part!

I agree that the current Schumacherized points system doesn't provide incentive to 'win' and needs to be revamped. I would like to see the positional points structure revised while also adding a point for pole and a point for fast lap during the race.

Bernie seems intent on driving F1 into the ground along with his marriage (um, hello? Canada? WTF?!!?). How can we, the F1 fans, file for divorce, too?

Would the medal system encourage punting from behind? I.e. driver X is ahead of driver Y, and if driver X wins the gold medal, driver X can no longer catch up. So driver Y has to overtake, or punt, to stay in the championship. The medal system might not just encourage "exciting" moves, but encourage downright reckless moves.

the only thing the medal system will accomplish is a massive backlfip from the hobbit when one driver wins the first 6 races and no one is interested to watch anymore :hehe:

Yeh then he'll fiddle some more it was a great season this year right down to the wire even if the FIA didn't meddle so much it still would of been on going in Japan or China at least.

Thus theres nothing wrong with the current system.
