Lets just imagine that another team collapses before the start of March - lets take Torro Rosso for example. And also Honda do not find a buyer and have to disband.

Now under the rules the remaining teams would have to run 3 cars.
If this does happen who do you think the teams should employ in their third cars? Realistically of course.

This is all Hypothetically speaking of course.

Here's my idea:

Mclaren Mercedes
1. Lewis Hamilton
2. Heikki Kovlainen
3. Pedro De La Rosa

Ferrari
4. Felipe Massa
5. Kimi Raikkonen
6. Luca Badoer

BMW Sauber
7. Robert Kubica
8. Nick Heidfeld
9. Jenson Button? Bruno Senna?

Renault F1
10. Fernando Alonso
11. Nelson Piquet
12. Lucas De Grassi ? Jenson Button? Bruno Senna?

Toyota
14. Jarno Trulli
15. Timo Glock
16. Jenson Button - Marketing Coup? Takuma Sato? Bruno Senna?

Red Bull Racing
17. Sebastian Vettel
18. Mark Webber
19. Sebastien Buemi

Williams F1
20. Nico Rosberg
21. Kazuki Nakajima
22. Nico Hulkenberg? Bruno Senna? Sebastien Bourdais?

Force India
23. Giancarlo Fisichella
24. Adrian Sutil
25. Paul Di Resta

i reckon mclaren and ferrari should put their test drivers into the 3rd car... it would be a perfect opportunity to give their young talent a chance to compete on track.
this should also apply to the other teams

young talent? Ferrari and Mclaren's test drivers are pretty old

I'd be extremely surprised if we snap up Buemi, he is STR quality not RBR. In place of him I think RBR would make an attempt for Button or then would settle for Bourdais because Horner appreciates his talents. If not, a return for DC :whip:

Renault or Williams would hire Button. Possibly Red Bull. They were sniffing around him earlier this year
#84651
Luca Badoer
I'd like to see three cars each. Dunno whether at the expense of another team.
But that wouldnt help F1 anyway. It wouldnt make anything better or resolve the reason teams dropped out.

Williams F1
20. Nico Rosberg
21. Kazuki Nakajima
22. Nico Hulkenberg? Bruno Senna? Sebastien Bourdais?

Either Senna or Bourdais would make me happy, I think Hulkenberg is signing up for GP2 next year. :D

My own idea of line-ups would be slightly different from yours (although not all of them make me happy):

McLaren-Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton
Heikki Kovalainen
Paul di Resta

Scuderia Ferrari

Felipe Massa
Kimi Raikkonen
Luca Filippi

BMW Sauber

Robert Kubica
Nick Heidfeld
Sebastian Vettel
(Natacha Gachnang)*

Renault

Fernando Alonso
Nelson Piquet
Lucas di Grassi

Toyota

Jarno Trulli
Timo Glock
Kamui Kobayashi

Red Bull Racing

Mark Webber
Sébastien Bourdais
Brendon Hartley

Scuderia Toro Rosso

Sebastien Buemi
Bruno Senna
Takuma Sato

Williams

Nico Rosberg
Kazuki Nakajima
Anthony Davidson

Force India

Giancarlo Fisichella
Adrian Sutil
Vitantonio Liuzzi

* Well, if they want a Swiss driver, she's the only other one to have impressed me lately. Buemi isn't exactly magic, but he's got some talent, at least. Not that I've heard that the team do want a Swiss driver, I was just throwing it in there out of interest.

I keep reading about this 3 driver rule, but whats the deal, are they looking to introduce it before Australia or what.

Anyways, my input

McLaren-Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton
Heikki Kovalainen
Gary Paffet or Pedro De La Rosa

Scuderia Ferrari

Felipe Massa
Kimi Raikkonen
?? Badoer is pretty slow. Mark Gene maybe. Barrichello for a laugh

BMW Sauber

Robert Kubica
Nick Heidfeld
Christian Klien

Renault

Fernando Alonso
Nelson Piquet
Lucas di Grassi (he deserves the chance)

Toyota

Jarno Trulli
Timo Glock
Kamui Kobayashi (<<110% )

Red Bull Racing

Mark Webber
Sébastien Bourdais
Button or Barrichello

Scuderia Toro Rosso

Sebastien Buemi
Bruno Senna
Takuma Sato

Williams

Nico Rosberg
Kazuki Nakajima
Nico HulkenBurg,(maybe, seems like the only one on their list)or maybe even Wurz

Force India

Giancarlo Fisichella
Adrian Sutil
Paul di Reista (more than likely)

the down side for button in all this is how many team owners are gonna remember the Williamsgate

People in F1 have short memories.

For example, they've already forgotten Jenson Button is among the top five drivers in the sport.

There are more than five names which force me to disagree. :P
