James Allen says 16 cars is the magic number, and the Guardian claim that Toro Rosso have already approached Button

Well at least there's a chance my man will get a drive :-|

If they're looking at recent performances, I'd say that they'd be tempted to go for the Sato/Bourdais line-up more than anything. Jenson hasn't exactly done anything impressive this year :/

Wh are the memories in F1 so short? You don't just lose talent from one season to the next. It does not happen. Brawn said it himself, the 2008 car didn't suit Jens.

Incidentally, history shows that Jenson Button can run rings around Takuma Sato.

I didn't say he'd lost his talent, but he does seem to have lost a lot of his motivation. Through the end of 2007 and all of 2008, he didn't look bothered. He was more focussed on other things and took every opportunity to whine about the car instead of just getting on with it. The major thing that is a hinderance to Jenson getting a Toro Rosso drive is that he doesn't bring much in the way of sponsorships, whereas Taku opens up a new market to Red Bull. Money will be the key to securing a Toro Rosso drive.

To be fair to him Denth, he'd spent the best part of his careeer there only to see the team go backwards.

I thought of a sponsor Jens could take to STR! Ray Ban!

Does that man ever take his shades off?

Jenson maybe will be forced to take a year out?

MIND YOU if he did get the Torro Rosso drive, he may be asked to also do some mileage with the Red Bull as Webber's gonna be out so long.

I doubt he'll be at Torro Rosso though.

Its a blow for Jenson who committed his future again to Honda weeks before they announced they were quitting the sport. How sad is that!

I know what, kick Lewis Hamilton out of McLaren and put Jensen Button in his place. After all Jensen Button said that had he had the car Lewis Hamilton had, that he too would of been able to win the world championship. Further to this I am sure all of Great Britain would love Jensen Button rather than have mixed reactions and on top of that the Spanish F1 followers will have to dig deep into their brains and find new things to bag McLaren's new would be ace........................... As for Rubens Barrichello, off to the DTM you go. :hehe:

Well as far I'm concerned, that's the nail in the coffin for Barrichello. I had hoped he would stay, though I knew the chances were slim before. But no-one, not even Honda's buyer will sign him now, no way. It's a shame, I'd personally sooner see Rubens stay than Jenson.

But I do find it funny that Sato and Button might be re-united next year! Who would've thought?

What about NAStyCAR? I'm sure Button would LOVE the thrill of going up against Montoya again whilst driving in a huge circle for 2+ hours?

Snarky, but even if you were being serious, Dennis would never sign Jenson. Jens snubbed Ron after he won the McLaren Young Driver Award because Ron wouldn't guarantee the contract he was offering Jens would get him into F1. A year later, Williams came knocking instead.
