Now that Honda have left F1, at present it leaves Jenson and Reubens without a drive for 2009. There is a slim possibility that Reubens could get the Torro Rosso seat but Jenson's options are a lot more limited. Williams is no go and Renault will probably keep Piquet Jr. (no matter how bad he is). So I think that 2008 is the last we have seen of Jenson Button in an F1 car.

Maybe he can join David Coulthard at the BBC...

It's too early to save what will happen. Button does have a reasonable reputation as a driver, so maybe he could show some interest in Toro Rosso as well. That said, I think Toro Rosso are set on Sato. Even though Button and Barrichello are better drivers than him and even though Senna has a lot of potential, they don't have the cash Sato will bring.

You know something? With Honda pulling out, Petrobras won't be able to sponsor them. Maybe Rubens could take their sponsorship to Toro Rosso instead? Just a thought...

I read on here some time ago a post that hinted at a ruling that states there must be at least 20 cars on the grid, and if there isn't, then other teams may enter 3 cars to make up numbers. Can anyone shed any light on this??

If that is a true rule and Honda do pull out, i could see a couple of other teams (Ferrari and McLaren being the obvious ones) being willing to run the extra car. Maybe not straight away, but at some point...

Unfortunately, i think Barrichello will definately be gone if no buyer is found for the Honda team... i think Button will find a drive somehow though.

As for Petrobras, if someone buys Honda then the new owner would surely welcome their sponsorship...?

Max Mosley wants teams to be able to compete for the championship on a budget of £30-40 million per year, because that way there is likely to be a line of possible entrants

This is what I thought might happen. If Max starts losing teams, then he'll eventually have to find replacements, and this will force him to pander to potential team owners, rather than existing ones.

If they're looking at recent performances, I'd say that they'd be tempted to go for the Sato/Bourdais line-up more than anything. Jenson hasn't exactly done anything impressive this year :/

Even Ross Brawn has said this year's car didn't suit his driving style...

However, Bourdais is more deserving of a seat.
