I'm only 20, but the fact that I haven't moved out of the family home has meant I was able to buy a 4-year old Mazda RX-8 in March this year.

The fuel consumption is absolutely ridiculous, and running costs do mount up - but it's a real event driving this car. Love it to bits.
Does anyone else on the forum drive one of these, or perhaps one of its competitors?

I've never driven one either (I don't even have a car!), but from what I've read and heard about them, they seem really good.

A friend of mine had one of the 230bhp models a few years ago, I drove it once and it was fantastic. Good buy, but I'd rather a 350Z!

Aye, well, with a 350Z you get a 3.5 rather than a 2.6 (1.3) and a better noise. I actually wanted to buy a 2005 Ford Mustang, but at 19 (almost 20), no-one would insure me here in the UK on a 4-litre V6. Wonder why?:hehe:

And you know what? The fuel consumption for all of those three cars is roughly the same, so that highlights what a guzzler the Mazda is. :banghead:

That is sweet mate, now you just need to ruin it with 20 inch alloys, fake carbon fiber interior parts, and a ridiculous rear spoiler!! :P

I kid of course. Your insurance must be insanely big, mind if i ask how much?

I tell you what, if you'd have got the 'Stang I'd have made the hop over the bridge to have a look!

It pains me to admit, but it's close to £3k/year. :(
But hey, you spend money on your hobbies, and I like cars.

I have 2 guzzlers and an old civic that does 45 mpg, it don't go quick but it has paid for itself in saved fuel time and time again. Plus I am not affraid to leave it in some of the seedier places I might happen to end up lol
