One of the few? I can name over half of the field (old and young) who, in a competitive car, could challenge Lewis for wins provided they were on-form.

Sutil

Huh? People actually think Sutil is a world class driver? Why?

I dont!!

I think he's got plenty of potential, he just seems lazy and/or easily distracted, which has led to quite a lot of disappointing results. If I had to pick, based on the best performance of each driver, I'd choose Winkelhock over him, but then you can't really call that fair, can you?

Ok wiseguys (McLaren Fan and Bud), if Formula One and Ferrari are as a vehicle of expression for my Italian nationalism then how do you explain why I like Alonso??????? Alosno is not Italian so what is your explanation to that? You have none I take it? Thought that would be the case.

I think the like of Alonso is tied up with Alonso's dislike (Jealousy of) Lewis Hamilton and Mclaren. He screwed McLaren and I guess that appeals. Also he is one of the few drivers who may be able to challenge Lewis for wins in the right car. So Alonso in a ferrrari is obviously an attractive option for someone running very scared of lewis in a McLaren :D

Alonso
Barrichello
Bourdais
Heidfeld
Massa
Kovalainen
Kubica
Raikkonen
Rosberg
Sutil
Vettel

:rofl: When lewis is also on form none (Silverstone last year ).
Otherwise Id pick 3 maybe 4 from your list.

Of course, how could I forget? Lewis is wonderboy. Nobody can beat him.

 You got it!

Except there is a flaw in your mentality and I shall present it to you:

Webber
Fuji
2007

Remind me? Was it the wet one where Webber was rammed by Vettel? I get races mixed up.

To be honest, I wouldn't expect you to have noticed anything else about that race, seeing as you'd be too busy being blinded by Hamilton's brilliance. I'll fill in the blanks for you: it was the race where Webber was catching Hamilton quite quickly, the gap then reduced to nothing by the safety car. Perhaps if Vettel hadn't run in to him, the result would've been different.

Well I obviously wasnt "too blinded" because i just recalled the facts. What I get mixed up with is which race things happen in. I am well aware of the facts of the race. Perhaps Webber would have caught him,we'll never know. As I remember Webber was about 3 seconds behind Lewis and very slightly quicker but Wet tyres go through different phases as was evident at Silverstone. It would certainly have been more exciting without the Vettel intervention.
I didnt say no one could ever beat Lewis. I said when he's at his best.

I'm pretty sure that if he and Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen were all at their best, any one of them could take a win ;)

Maybe. And Kubica too. I just think Lewis' Best is a little higher than the others but the flip side of him is the loss of control when things dont go according to plan. But when they do go according to plan......... for me he's the best. Just my opinion of course

Hamilton has had the fortunate situation of being in one of the best cars since his career began. When he gets a dog of a car then we'll see how good he really is.
I don't think Hamilton is better on his day than the others. I think he believe his own hype and that is his downfall.
What is funny is when he does f*** up - its done is the most elaborate ways!

they say you are only as good as you are in your last race. Lewis could not even get on the podium, so he must be the best.

I hope Mclaren and Ferrari are both at the same sort of level as each other, as the fight this year was quite good.

Yeah, Lewis has had the easy life. He's had the most competitive car all through his career. McLaren have had the best car for the last 2 years, and the car is perfectly suited to Lewis. So again, I look forward to seeing him in a less competitive car.

Also, he may fight through the field well, but only because he messes up and puts himself in that position despite having a great car.

But it will be interesting to see how much of a clean slate 2009 will be. Any team could lose out or move up, just as Ferrari Renault, Williams and McLaren have all done over the last 10 years. So as long as Bernies crap medal system stays far far away, I can't wait till 2009.

Well I enjoy a good battle fight. Can't fight against Ferrari now can I. So target the enemy and have a little fun with the infidels of F1. Oops wrong word. I mean the F1 followers who don't accept Ferrari are the greatest and the all of F1.

AKR, you really are an annoying little oik! You rant on about Ferrari this and that and how much you hate McLaren, but to say you support F1 is a joke. You come across as a simple, obsessed little girl that needs to grow up. Having mentioned 'sport' a few times in this thread, I'd have expected you to know what sportsmanship actually means.

If you say so............................... By the way I know what supporing my team means. That is all that matters. How I support them and react to rivals is irrelvant.

Thing is AKR you don't support Ferrari you just think they can do no wrong and are perfect.

What you do is go on about how s*** Mclaren and anything associated with Mclaren is.

If i were new to this fourm and you didn't have a sig which said "i support ferrari" i'd assume you were an alonso fan.

lol

How dare you insult me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I am not a Ferrari supporter then I am Micky Mouse's girlfriend and you're not an Englishman!

Well if you look over your posts for the past few days its mostly how much you hate Mclaren and how much you like alonso

ALONSO
ALONSO
ALONSO
ALONSO
ALONSO

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

so if you were new to the fourm knowing how much alonso fans hate mclaren what would you think?

:hehe:

Oh for crying out aloud, what is wrong with liking a driver that doesn't drive for Ferrari? I thought F1 fans are supposed to apprceciate F1 for more than just one team they live. It is what you and all your McLaren friends think anyway so there you go. And I would be estatic if Alonso were to drive for Ferrari. It would be the best seeing Alonso at Ferrari. Perfect Latin combination.

Nothing is wrong with that i'm just saying you don't put any constructive imput into theads about F1 you just bash Mclaren

No they're not, just watch. They had a good car in low-downforce tracks, they will benefit from this. Plus the FW30 got worse when they abandoned development on it so they could get the FW31 ready.

I think whats more interesting is this KERS system Williams is claiming to be using, that will apparently be of great help or great hindrance. Either way, Williams need to prove they can still fight in 2009, or thats pretty much them out of things.
I mean, what other team is there, Toyota, Red Bull & Honda, all of whom clearly have more potential as teams right now. Its sad to think, but Williams just don't have a case to move forward, other teams do.

What I'm interested in is, how long till Nico leaves, and where does he go.

well you give absolutely no respect to Lewis Hamilton, as you say F1 fans are supposed to appreciate F1 for more than just their fave team  so to sum up again, clearly you are not an F1 fan!

He, Lewis Hamilton doesn't deserve my respect. He shouldn't be the youngest ever world champion. He didn't earn his way in, he got to race for a competitive team to start with, which not even the likes of Senna etc had this chance. We have discussed this before. Anyway I don't achnoledge false champions. If next year Hekki were to win, even though he is at McLaren, at least he somewhat earned his place and that I would achnowledge and respect.

didnt you say earlier about a Latin connection

So???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

and i can guarantee you would have hated Alonso when he were at McLaren in 07

Actually I have said this before, when it came down to that last race in Brazil and Kimi was 7 points behind Lewis Hamilton, I thought he had no hope, as most people did. Alonso on the otherhand was only 4 points behind. I was actually hoping at worst case scenario that Alonso would win at all cost. Alonso I saw from the start as a far better prospect of being world champion than Lewis Hamilton. Even from early on that season of 2007, I also preferred Alonso without question to win if McLaren had to be the car/team that won the WDC in 2007. So clearly I wouldn't of hated Alonso. Glad though he never won in the end as the great man Alonso is, didn't belong with the bunch of twats the McLaren team are.
