McLaren is in no rush to replace Adrian Newey, who this year switched to Red Bull.

''The structure we have in place does not require that someone directly takes his position,'' Team Principal Ron Dennis said.

''We do not see the necessity for a technical director.''

Ah well, Newey left on bad terms - better off with Redbull racing in my opinion. That's a team who know how to have fun, I just hope they start earning some more points, Klien has really impressed to date.

Maaaan, the TD's get clobbered:

The specific function of 'Technical Director' has been abolished (following the departure of Technical Director Mike Gascoyne last month) in line with Toyota's belief that successful organisations nowadays follow an integrated structure, rather than relying on the direction of one particular individual.

In its place, the title of Senior General Manager has been introduced in both chassis and engine areas.
