From F1 Live:

Rubens Barrichello has this week continued his tirade against Ferrari and Michael Schumacher.

The veteran Brazilian, whose record-setting formula one career looks at an end, has followed through with his promise to one day reveal more about his six-year tenure with the famous Italian team.

On the Brazilian TV programme Fantastico, he claims he was threatened with the sack while he led the infamous 2002 Austrian Grand Prix.

While circulating in front of Schumacher, Barrichello said he was told over the radio: "Do you know that Michael is behind you? It's important for the championship."

He said his conversation with the pits lasted for eight laps, before an ultimatum was presented on the final tour.

"The intensity of the conversation increased with every lap. And then I was told to think about my contract," said Barrichello.

"For me it was clear - take your foot off the gas or you will be going home."

Barrichello said he was appalled by the turn of events, and asked Schumacher afterwards if he had anything to do with the decision.

"He said he had nothing to do with it, but I have the documents at home to prove that he was aware of everything that took place," the 36-year-old insisted.

As shameful as many of Schumacher's victory were and as much as I feel fans have a right to know about things like this, I can't help but feel Barrichello is generating publicity for his book, whenever he writes it.

He's got to build it up now, seeing as he's on the verge of not having a Formula One race seat and if he was to just exit the sport so quietly as he would if Honda simply dropped him, there'd be less expectation.

Is this sour grapes syndrome or wha?!
I guess it's a bit late for these to come up now. Why can't he leave the skeletons in the closet, and try to look for another series to race in. :irked:

Because another racing series would be a step backwards and Rubens is without a doubt good enough to stay in Formula One for a few more years.

Is it or isn't. Actually we could never tell how good Rubens still is, cause ever since he left Ferrari, he didn't had a top car... or at least a good one (like 2008's BMW or ToroRosso).

Didn't you watch the 2008 season? :)

Well he beat Jenson... and? :P

I take it you're looking at points/table standings and nothing else, then? The only car worse than the Honda was the Force India, and yet Rubens finished ahead of Nakajima, Bourdais, Button (who people still rate more highly) and then the two Force India drivers. Some of the drives he put in this year were more astounding than some of the drives put in by the guys who actually won races or scored podiums. If his achievements this season aren't good enough to keep you in Formula One, then we'd have about three people on the grid at the start of next season ;)

Well we should follow this route, I guess. The only problem is that his talents get wasted in a slow car. That is what p*ssed me off this season :(

I think that's a bit harsh, Barrichello has at least got on with the job at hand during the season unlike his team-mate did recently.

Nonetheless, if he publishes this book, I can't wait to grab a copy of it.

Ahaha, people are having a go because he has 'sour grapes' and so on... can you really blame him given the situation??

my answer to that is what did he expect when he signed to partner Michael Schumacher at Ferrari?

if he is so pissed about it make a stand at the time! if the threat of ditching you because you didnt pull over went through, can you imagine the bad publicity Ferrari would have gotten because of that!?

"Driver axed for beating team mate"

Well I like Rubens and hope he does publish the book to show everyone, who still isnt quite sure, how Michael got so many championships and also how the poison dwarf operated.
Bring it on Rubens!! :)
