Basically what I'm asking is if this statement "Oh no, Williams have achieved so much. They are a great asset to F1" is supportive or negative?

Most likely it is just a simple misinterpretation :) .

One thing is certain and that is Williams is no stranger to struggles and that is why we should never count them out or loose respect for them. :)

Absolutely, Sam Michael has admitted that one of the major reasons for Williams' struggles last year is that the FW30 didn't recieve a full development schedule like the previous years cars did as he wanted to start work on the FW31 early. If the FW30 did get the full development schedule as if none of these new regs or slicks were coming back next year, the long-fast-corner understeer that made the Williams rubbish at places like Spa and Catalunyawn could have been solved earlier.

And Kryos, get a life, you being a Renault fan of all people should be grateful of the days when Williams and Renault in the 1990's was practically an unbeatable combination. And there's three goats here to see you. ;)

No Al4x, they're not deer, goats.

sorry, Ill make myself clear.

In the early days of my F1 viewing, I was a Williams Fan..

Nigel Mansell (Red #5)
Alain Prost
Damon Hill (the famous #0)
Jacques Villeneurve

They were my guys. Then williams bagan to suck, So didnt support them anymore...

williams gave us exciting championships for Nigel and Damon so we have a lot to be thankfull for. They are the team that transformed F1 in the 1990s and of course with a little help from renault

That imho is a very unsporting outlook but that is only my opinion. If one only support's winner's one show's no allegiance's or dedication and cannot be trusted because one's action's depict their personal moral standard's.
Pick a team, or team's, and stick with them through thick and thin, no doubt you have a football team you would literally die for right?

What if the personel, ethos, morals etc of your team change completely and become something you no longer admire or respect. Are you suggesting blindly staying with that team just because you've decided its your team? I would say that is being untrue to your own values and somewhat dishonest. Certainly it is not unsporting, if anything, its the opposite.

I will be watching Honda with great interest next season, I find it very interesting to try to understand what makes an F1 team successful.

I thought Toyota were going to own all when Mike Gasgoyne went there, just goes to show it's not as cut and dry as throwing staff at a problem.

There will be huge expectation on Ross Brawn's shoulder's next season, he is more of a technical manager then a technical brain, which is why I think he'll be more successful then let's say Adrian Newey going to Honda, with the size and complexity of F1 teams growing each season you need people that can bring the army together as opposed to individual efforts.

My take on Jensen and Honda is slightly different to the OP, if F1 teams were run purely on racing merit then I think RaceChick has some very good points, however lets not forget the UK is the 2nd largest car market and Jensen is extremely marketable, he's keeping his drive because he helps move a lot of metal...

Yeah Kyro seems to have dropped Williams just because they aren't winning anymore. That is not support that's glory hunting. Just like every Man Utd fan that isn't from Manchester! :D

Nope, I dropped them because:

A) I liked Damon Hill the most so I moved on to Support Arrows then Jordan
B) They changed colour to the evil red side in 1998!
C) I couldnt stand watching williams flapping around with Zanardi and Ralph in 1999
D) wasnt too fond of Franks Driver relations

Im happy sticking to renault now, no matter what driver line up they have! I supported them ever since they bought the Bennetton team and remained Benneton Renault sport for 2 years. So Im sticking to my guns now. through ups and downs. It wasnt through glory hunting. Ive always been a supporter of the Underdog!

I dropped them too in 1997 and 1998 when they ditched Hill, but started liking them again when they ditched JV and Frentzen. And at least Frank recently admitted he wishes he never ditched Hill. Forgive and forget, that's what I say.

Anyways isn't this supposed to be about HONDA? I hope Senna gets the seat and Rubens stays on.

That is not the case with Williams though but anyway to each their own.

Im more of a driver supporter and I lost it with Williams when they ditched Hill for Frenzen. I think that also had a little to do with Newey going. I wouldnt say I dislike Williams now, I would still like to see them succeed but I was disapointed with their treatment of Hill. But then they hired Juan, so they sort of improved again in my eyes.
But if you are more of a driver supporter than a team supporter then you may change teams. It does not mean you are unsporting, untrustworthy or of a poor moral standard.
