The recently-retired Formula One veteran David Coulthard is a father.

The 37-year-old Scot's fiancee Karen Minier, a Belgian who was formerly a F1 reporter for the French broadcaster TF1, gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Friday.

The name and weight of the child is not known.

Coulthard, who contested 247 Grand Prix, most recently for Red Bull, joked earlier this year: "He'll be signed up for Ferrari in 2028!"

Hm, can't wait for a pic

Bet that was a tricky birth!!

Nah, I figure it went like one of these icecube machines in hotels: rumble, rumble, clong, kaching!

Congratulations to Coulthard and his wife. Hopefully the child has got the gene for the shape of its jaw from its mother.
