[McLaren Fan]

Who's response do I reply to? I know I'll just do this and reply to all the last few as they seem to all be about the same thing. I hate McLaren more than I love Ferrari and I hate Lewis but don't mind Heikki to win etc, etc. Now don't blame me for going off topic because I was on track until the usual McLaren diehard supporters diverted this off again.

Ok I love Ferrari. That is fact, in fact it is very factual. I hate McLaren, that isn't actual fact. It is assumption as is the same comment about Lewis. Anna (Racechick) points out that Lewis Hamilton is the bigger threat to Ferrari, however that isn't why I like Heikki better. Reality is I wouldn't really want either McLaren driver to win as no Ferrari supporter would but if it came down to one of them 2 winning I would prefer Heikki to win as his personality is 1,000,000 better than that of Lewis Hamilton. Heikki to me is a gentleman. Lewis Hamilton simply is not.

Going back to the I hate McLaren theory first theorised by Chris (McLaren Fan) and then accepted as a popular theory by the other McLarenites around this forum. Not really true. I would be happy for McLaren to be renamed as Mercedes or anyone else for that matter simply because it would mean all records regarding any wins etc would start again. McLaren's records would end but Ferrari's would increase as they continue to win their own races etc. What am I trying to say? Simply that McLaren is the only team that can threaten Ferrari as the greatest team of all time. In 1993 McLaren surpased Ferrari with most race wins. McLaren got 104 wins to Ferraris 103. Also when Mika Hakkinen won his 2 WDC, McLaren surpassed Ferrari in number of WDC. This would open an argument that at one point McLaren could claim to be the greatest F1 team of all time. Ferrari has won all these records back. In terms of race wins, Ferrari are pretty much safe for now, but in WDC, Ferrari only has 3 more than McLaren. McLaren is clearly the only threat to Ferrari. If a takeover occured, then stats would start again for say Mercedes (Assuming they were the taking over team) and McLaren's would end meaning Ferrari would be safe for a long time. This is the only reason why I would be happy to see McLaren go or really not go but get taken over by another company like Mercedes. No gard feelings and no real hate intended. I just want Ferrari to remain the greatest team in F1 forever and never have to deal with a threat from any other team.

I know of you including Ferrari fans are going to say I am pathetic in my reasoning, but this is why I don't like McLaren. Nothing personal but they are the only threat Ferrari really has and thinking like a warrior, you cant simply be in love or appreciate the very enemy that threatens your status as the greatest.

A very eloquent post, undermined only by the fact you have said you hate McLaren. (One instance was when you said you were taught to hate your rivals by your parents.)

I don't think the Honda looks as bad as last year and hopefully they are faster. I still think the BMW's will do very well next year as well.

You have no idea whether either Lewis or Heiki are gentlemen as you've never met either of them. All you know is what the media brings you. What is fact though, is that Lewis is a bigger threat to Ferrari.

Didn´t you just claim the information from the media as facts in that other thread? Hmmmmm...... Somthing isn´t right here.....

You struggle with technical issues dont you. I did not present anyones opinions as fact.I presented a technical article. Opinions the media put forth (media as in popular press-rags!)about a preson and their opinions of them is not the same as a technical article presnting known facts. Think about. Facts are facts. Opinions are opinions

I like that! Why are you guys complaining about that? You dont like this years cars, and you dont like last years cars, so do you only like cars from the past? Do you want F1 to keep on racing racing cars from the 80's ,90's? This is the new era!

I think I'd bite my own arm off to have cars from the 80's and 90's racing in F1 again.

When we 'discussed Lewis on that other thread' we were discussing his driving style and how he adapted it by use of a simulator to better maximise the potential of the McLaren. He did this better than Heiki as was borne out by the additions Heiki had on his car at Silverstone causing him to perfornm a lot less well. This is a technical fact.

As Mclaren Fan says you have said you hate Mclaren, Lewis, Ron Dennis Etc. many times,.

So you wouldn't mind if Mclaren were taken over by and there records were restarted fine, well wouldn't that be boring!

Lets say Mclaren have a good run of form for a 4 years and take Ferrari on WDCs and then Fiat takes over Ferrari and they are no more (now this isn't going to happen just as Merc are never ever going to take over Mclaren. )

I believe that would be a loss for F1 because one of the greatest rivalries in international sport would end i like the idea of Mclaren holding the most records but if they held them for ever that would be boring.

Records are made to be broken and if Ferrari came along and over took Mclaren again it would be more exciting to see Mclaren try and get them back.

I feel as long as F1 is around there will always be a Mclaren vs Ferrari rivalry its part of F1 and always will be.

BMW-Sauber test driver Christian Klien said the interim Formula One car being tried out by the team in Spain this week was the ugliest he had seen.
The German manufacturer on Monday ran two modified 2008 cars on slick tyres and with some of the bodywork conforming to the 2009 regulations, a high and narrow rear wing along with a wide and low front end.
Klien's car was also fitted with the new KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) device that is being introduced next year.
"To me, for the moment, it's the worst Formula One car I have ever seen. It just doesn't fit together," the Austrian told the autosport.com website after the first day at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.
"But we will get used to it. There will be a lot of modifications until the first race in March."
BMW-Sauber, who finished third overall this year, are due to launch their 2009 car in Valencia on Jan. 20.
"It drives quite well, actually," said Klien of the hybrid version. "There are still quite a few improvements coming over the winter. Basically it's quite a lot less downforce but with the slick tyres it compensates quite a lot."
Klien said the rule changes would slow lap times and pose a new challenge for drivers.
"Even with these aerodynamics it's still not possible to drive right behind another car," he said. "We will see in the first few races. It's more of a problem to not knock off the front wing at the first corner."
